This is just another example that shows the Mets minors aren’t in bad shape at all. They actually are in very good shape. Duda, Nieuwenhuis, Den Dekker, Vaughn, Puello, Lagares, Taijeron, Nimmo, and even Vladespin are all options in the OF going forward. We have a ton of depth in the OF.

Looking at it now, it’s almost laughable that this minor league system was criticized as much as it was. The Mets are throwing out almost all homegrown lineups every night, and the Mets minor league teams have the best record in all of baseball. I believe every Mets minor league team is over .500, and each one is filled with quality prospects.

And this is the SAME minor league system that was bashed on a daily basis here for the past few years.

Surprised German was the one to get the call up out of all of them. I would have thought Mazzoni or Huchingson would get the nod to Bingo first.

nimmo, of that bunch, probably doesn’t belong in the conversation for that early. That would be a stretch.

But, Puello/Lagares, by 2014? Sure, add them in!

unless he seriously goes cold, Vaughn needs to get moved up by 6/1. That would give him 3+ months in AA to show how close he is, and help plan for 2013.
