Great win.

And we also have to remember that not only was Gee pitching to a heavy hitting Toronto team playing in Skydome (OK, Rogers Centre) with a hard astroturf surface, he was also pitching to nine full batters because of the designated hitter rule. So that makes his three runs in 6-2/3 innings performance even more impressive compared than had it come against a national league team with the pitcher batting.

Same with Jeremy Hefner limiting the Jays to two runs in five innings on Saturday.

Phew. That bottom of the 9th was something else. 1st and 2nd with no outs and Francisco strikes out the side? Yea that can't be too good for one's health. The stress will kill you. Glad to be done Canada. I will say that of all the stadiums the Mets have visited the Rogers Centre was the loudest. Mets manage to avoid the sweep as they head to Pittsburgh for three.

3 runs by Gee in 6 2/3 against this Jays lineup with how they been hitting of late is job well done by me. I'm not going to read too much into Parnell's struggles in the 8th. He's pitched good overall this season.

I'll say this about Ike Davis. You have to be pretty good to hit .163/BA and play everyday. I understand the Mets may have to eventually send Ike down to right himself but I am glad they believe in how good he can be and have hung in there with him so far. Still rooting for you to turn it around Ike. Keep fighting.

Positives for me today was Mr. Wright and Byrdak. Byrdak's arm may soon fall off but he has come in and gotten the outs when called upon more times than not.

Hopefully Tejada can be back by the weekend and he can pick up where he left off.

Santana on the hill 2morrow.

Francisco and his 9th inning tight rope walk is gonna kill me yet.

Agree with the kudos for Gee. He doesn't have electric stuff but he's got a clue on the mound most starts on how to get the job done anyway. Niese could learn a thing or two from Gee about making adjustments.

Wright continues to rake, Ike continues to not - that double withstanding, and since most of the offense is currently on the anemic side have to find a way to keep Baxter's bat in the line up.

Happy we salvaged the final game in this series.
