And he’s a LH hitter, and most of the positions he is backing up are manned by LHH hitters (or in Torres’ case a switch hitter who hits better against LH than RH). So when those regulars get a day off, its usually against a LHP…so its the RH bats on the bench that get the start

He rested a 21-year old Tejada when he was on fire in a Johan start after onlt two weeks of the season, and although Tejada is coming around now, he went into a tailspin after that day off.

Does Collins even give a crap that he’s screwed Santana all year long with these lineups that have yet to earn our ace a win? He should be 4-1 right now, but Collins couldn’t care less about that. I feel bad for Santana who has given this team nothing short of a first class effort whenever he takes the mound from the day he first arrived. It’s insane how everytime Johan pitches, key players are given the day off like it’s a damn holiday.

He would also be higher than 2nd in wins over that time without the injuries. And so far in 2012, save for one really rough outing in Atlanta, Santana has looked like the Johan of old. Bay may be a bust, Perez and Castillo equally so, but Santana really was a great pickup by Omar Minaya.
