I care. Because I want to know how this gamble by Paul Depodesta is going to play out. The kid wasn’t in a viable high school baseball setting, and was taken in the first round. His progression might be the most interesting IF he pans out in pro ball, especially when playing for a team in the most populated city in pro sports, and a non-forgiving fan base. That is some pressure for a kid from no high school baseball, and a state whose population probably compares to New York City, itself.

being a top prospect, and potential future star, does not mean that you are going to come out of the gate like the true ethereal MiL talents, such as Mike Vail and Mike Jacobs.

Do you have an illusion in your mind that says TB, LAA, SEA, CIN, COL value their young players because Baseball America told them to?

You think Andrew Friedman is calling Baseball America and saying “hey man what gives! You said Moore was gonna be good!”

I have faith that the FO now is going to make decisions based on BB factors, and what is best for the LT development of the players (and by extension, the mets), not what amounts to PR (trying to show off a top draft pick). besides, if they think he really isn’t ready, isn’t it worse to have him struggle in Brooklyn than develop in Kingsport?

I think Nimmo will start in Brooklyn even if like you say he’d be playing with players 2-4 years older than him. If only because I think the front office will want to showcase his talents on a grander stage than the boondocks in Kingsport. But I still enjoyed reading this and agree with your other picks.

I do have a question for you if it’s ok to just leave it here. In 2014 when Bay, Santana and possibly Wright will be gone, what would our batting order look like? I’d really like to see who you envision in the infield and outfield. Thanks ahead of time.
