Here are some goofy, small sample size, way too early to mean anything numbers that are getting a chuckle out of me:

David Wright has struck out once so far in 22 PAs. He is batting .588, has a .636 OBP and is slugging .941. That is a 1.577 OPS and a 345 OPS+

I have been totally against batting Wright third for over three years. I’m still not convinced he has what it takes, but I must admit that so far I’m encouraged. That said, it maybe the best thing for this team if he has a monster first half and them get a package of prospects for him, specifically a top catching prospect, a power outfield prospect and a power reliever. Wright will be 30 after his option and heading into his decline. I’d rather use him to bankroll our future.

“I guess his hand’s alright.” Gary Cohen had the understatement of the year. I hope Sandy Alderson was drawing up the paperwork on that extension as Wright rounded second base. This guy’s a leader. And we’ve got a team this year.

Niese looked very good and the BP – which looked awful in ST – for the most part is looking real sharp.

Mets playing well.
Niese was good tonight. He’s already had two very good starts.
Bobby Parnell also impressed me. I hope he can continue developing.
Finally, it was great to see Wright come back. I was afraid that he would be pushing through too much pain and would be hurting the team, but obviously that is not the case.

He is a .301 lifetime hitter.He played with a broken back last year and he ‘s playing with a broken finger and hitting 430 foot bombs.Give him a 3 year extension for ( 50 mill..Ryan Zimmerman money) and you lock him up for his prime years.Show the fans there is some hope for the next few years

Great game.

Capt Kirk with the nice play at CF. Wright with the HR to start the game. Niese with a great pitching effort. Parnell and Rauch with continued solid appearances.

Tejada continues to play well. Duda with a bomb.

The Mets so far are 6-2 vs what some described as the toughest division in baseball.

They have now twice reached 4 games above .500. A high that was only reached once all of 2011.

Wright so far this season has 1 strikeout. He also has at least 1 rbi in every game he has played this season.

Tejada has a 6 game hitting streak.
