MMO 2012 Projections – Division Winners, Post Season Glory
You know, with all the excitement to the start of this Mets season, I never got a chance to post our MMO 2012 Predictions.
I ended up selecting the Rays, Tigers and Rangers as division winners in the American League with the Angels and Red Sox earning the two Wild Card spots.
In the National League I went with the Phillies, Cardinals and Giants winning their divisions, and the Marlins and Mets notching those Wild Cards. Hey, I picked the Mets for a wild card last year too, so why wouldn’t I pick them again when the team is better and there’s an extra playoff spot, right? Somebody’s gotta represent the good guys!
I think the Rangers go all the way this year, and they’ll take down the Cardinals in a Fall Classic rematch.
Here’s what the rest of our staff came up with:
So if I’m doing the math right, it looks like our World Series picks are as follows:
- Angels – 9
- Tigers – 3
- Rangers – 3
- Yankees – 2
- Phillies – 1
- Red Sox – 1
Can you identify with any of our writers’ selections? What are your predictions?
We’ll have our 2012 Award Predictions up shortly, followed by our 2012 Mets Predictions….

Wow,
That’s really going out on the limb with the Mets taking wild card #2 though I can see it happening with all the breaks going our way. But last night with David’s bruised finger becoming a broken finger (leave it to the Mets to first announce good news so not to lose some ticket sales) it seems the breaks are going our way – of course, the wrong kind.
I don’t see the BoSox or Atlanta being in the playoff picture myself. Not just because they blew it down the stretch last season but because they have too many holes.
Did you forget about AZ and Cinn?
