  • On paper, it shouldn’t be that bad if everyone lives up to expectations. But it’s the Mets so…

    • Rosters are set Spring Training is over. Nothing left but to play the games and see if these Mets will end the season better or worse than so many have predicted them to be on paper.

As usual staying healthy plays a huge part with any team so with the usual disclaimer of barring injuries I think this team can finish .500 and I look forward to another season of Mets baseball irregardless of the final record.

Hopefully this year will be a coming out party for guys like Davis and Niese.

      Go Mets!

    • If your expectations are realistic, they will live up (or rather, down) to them, and finish in last.

  • Don’t wish harm to anybody, absolutely not, however, that being said, all I can add is thank heaven for a sprained ankle.

  • OK now that a new season is here I won’t keep bringing this up but man………I wish Reyes was leading off for us. The lineup would look a lot better and we’d be a lot more fun to watch that’s for sure.

    • We might have wanted Reyes to be leading off for the Mets but that relationship seems a bit one sided right now:

JonHeymanCBS: as @Joelsherman1 wrote, jose reyes answered “No chance” to me when i asked if he missed the mets. at least he was smiling

  • Let’s go Mets!!

  • This lineup looks good to me. honest this is a solid lineup with massive potential, and the bench has good players too. I am sitting here in germany 6hours ahead N.Y. timezone , so its 7 pm here when the game starts and i am ready . Bring on the Braves and their aces . LETS GO METS !!!! By the way NO MMO fantasy league ? just joined one last night, draft was pretty cool , so whenever someone creates a MMO only league, say it :) enjoy everyone Ike and Wright will homer each and Duda will go 3for 4 with 4 RBI´s . I love my mets !!!!!

    • What good players on the bench? Hairston, maybe. After that, guys who can’t hit .220.

  • Note Manny Acosta’s name on the roster. After last year, and spring training this year, does anyone think this guy is really a major leaguer? He’ll contribute mightily to the team’s last place finish.

  • I’m sure we’ll see dozens of different lineups before all is said and done this season.

  • AS I’VE MENTIONED MANY TIMES BEFORE, MY NORTH CAROLINA ZIP CODE IS CLAIMED AS HOME BROADCAST TURF BY BRAVES,NATIONALS, REDS &, ORIOLES WHICH PRIMARILY MEANS I’M BLACKED OUT FROM SNY VERSIONS & AM FORCED TO ENDURE THE OPOSITION BROADCAST TEAM.

MY POINT IS THAT THE SPORTS-SOUTH BROADCASTERS ANNOUNCED YESTERDAY WAS NOT ONLY A SELLOUT; BUT A RECORD SETTING SELLOUT FOR CITIFIELD; I’M SORRY; BUT EVEN WATCHING ON MY 60″ FROM NC+ I COULD SEE A PLETHORA OF EMPTY SEAT DISGUISES BEING WORN BY MANY OF THE FAITHFUL.

IT APPEARS STERLING ENTERPRISES HAD HIRED A NUMBER OF THIS ADMINISTRATION’S UNEMPLOYMENT COUNTERS ON THEIR OFF DAY!

AS MY NYY LOVING FAN COUSIN PUT IT THEY’LL BE SUBLETTING CITIFIELD TO HOFSTRA FOR ARCHERY PRACTICE IN JULY/AUGUST.
CUZ WAS DULY NOTIFIED OF MY INTENT TO PIRATE THE PHRASE…LMAO!

    • It’s so hard to judge attendance at a place like Citi by open seats. There’s so much to do there that they could have been 1,000′s anywhere.

Hey where in NC do you live? I live there too but have the perfect zipcode which lies outside of every blackout area. The ones beside of me all have multiple blackouts. I guess I live in the black hole of blackouts.

      • TRS, HAD FORGOTTEN ABOUT THE VAGRANTS WANDERING THE BYWAYS; BUT THEY MUST HAVE HAD 2fer OFFERINGS @ BURGERSHACK

I;M IN MATTGHEWS, 28105, JUST OUTSIDE CHARLOTTE! WHERE ARE U?

        • LOL, Statesville. My wife is the manager of the Colony Apartments right beside of South Park Mall.

          Small world.

    • Hey 62 – I was there, and while I don’t think it was completely sold out (although attendance and ticket sales are two different numbers), I thought the crowd was much larger than I anticipated. Also, there was always a large crowd of people in all the concession areas (hence not in their seats).

I went to last years OD too, and I thought there were, by far, more empty seats last year (the weather was awful though).

      • ‘…although attendance and ticket sales are two different numbers…’

Agree on this. I’m sure that sellout was close to the amount of tickets sold, not those who actually went through the turnstile and used those tickets.

      • KAY, I JUST THOUGHT IT A TAD UNREALISTIC THAT IN A MATTER OF 24hrs THEY COULD GO FROM PANICINGLY OFFERING FREEBIES TO EXCEEDING THE BEST INTERLEAGUE YANKEE SELLOUT(RECORD SETTER!?!) I LISTENED INTENTLY AS THE ATL ANNOUNCERS DELIBERATELY STATED “NOT ONLY ARE THE METS ANNOUNCING IT AS A SELLOUT; BUT AN ALLTIME CITIFIELD RECORD SELLOUT!” W.T.H.?

        • Yeah, it was also discussed to death on WFAN as I drove home yesterday. No way of really saying from my standpoint, or anyone’s naked eye, but it had to be fairly close to a sell out. I think its a bit of mountain/molehill right now. IMO (obviously) :)

          • KAY, PLS EXCUSE MY SLOW THINKING AS IT JUST DAWNED UPON ME THAT BREAKING THE OLD RECORD SET BY THE SMALLER CAPACITY CITI OF ’09-’11;

OPENING DAY WITH MORE SEATS TO FILL WAS THE LOGICAL NEW RECORD SETTING OPORTUNITY. DUH!

I CAN BE DENSE @ TIMES. CHALK THAT UP AS MY WIFE’S 2012 TIME TO BE CORRECT IN HER ASSESSMENT OF ME.

            • Don’t be silly 62, not a big deal. It was discussed until the horse was dead and buried on WFAN on Thursday, post game, how they announced and Mike F said NO WAY, Impossible, yadda yadda

I too saw some empty seats but nothing substantial at all.

Even if they gave away seats, it worked. People game, bought food from the vendors, souvies etc….win win

              oh yeah…..and the Mets won!

Enjoy your holiday this weekend, Passover/Easter or whatever :)
