Great game last night overall. as i said it in the series preview, if we jump this team 2 or 3 runs ahed, they won’t catch up, this braves team is not built to be a come from behind team but they can win the close games, or at least last year until they CHOKED!!!

I think the dimensions being a bit more fairer to Met hitters at home will also have it’s benefits on the road since Bay, Duda, Wright and Davis can take their natural cuts instead of cutting back on their power and messing up their approach to compensate for the park’s former distances and walls. One has to stick with his batting approach and cannot simply change it for when on the road.

And, at the same time, our pitchers can be a bit more relaxed knowing we have the long ball in our arsenal to come back from being a few runs down. They don’t have to press like they did before.

Dillon Gee was excellent tonight. Kept the red hot Braves off balance all night. He bailled Thole out in the 7th after the catchers interference. After striking out the last 2 hitters in the 7th I thought for sure he’d come back out to start the 8th. TC can’t stay way from using that pen. I hope it doesn’t come back to bite us in the ass later in the season. Ike’s 3 run shot came off of a pretty good pitch. Hopefully he gets going now.

We’re gonna win a lot of games this year if just one of the guys in the middle of the lineup comes up big. We’ve got the 3-4-5-6 guys who all have power potential (each has multiple home runs this year). Just one of them has to go yard (tonight Davis and Bay both obliged) and chances are we’ll win the game. That’s an Amazin’ luxury to have, and it’s sure paid its dividends so far this year. Another great win!

Gee a solid start vs a division rival to end their 5 game winning streak.

Jason Bay with a great catch and follows up later with a HR.

How about Mr Tejada? Rebounds from a 3 strike out day and gets a nice extra base hit.

There is so much to enjoy from this game.

Mets are for the 3rd time this year 4 games above .500. Doing it vs the NL East.
