And don’t forget Rauch and Francisco either because the 3 of them cost less combined than K-Rod and neither has even given up a run. K-Rod on the other hand 5 IP 5 hits 4 runs all earned 1 HR 5 BB’s 2.000 WHIP and a 7.20 ERA and one save, one hold. one loss and one blown save.

Glad we’re not paying 17 M for that kind of performance.

Your the one harping on K-Rod who at this point last year had a blown save but only gave up 2 runs compared to ramirez’ 5!

In fact K-Rod hadn’t given up 5 runs until May 27th and didn’t give up a single run from the time of April 14th through May 27th! His one blown save was opening day!

Obviously it’s way too early to make comparisons but since your all hyped up about one blown save that had a couple of shoddy defensive plays in it as well then fair is fair plus when you only score two runs your not winning most of the time anyway and 4 of those runs were unearned and the tying run shouldn’t have even been OB but should have been an out instead but since those two plays not made were by players acquired by the previous FO it’s no problem right?

Only players acquired by this FO get blamed for losing games and no mention of the 7 games they’ve helped us win.

K-Rod blew a game in the first week last year and has blown two already this season and your still whinning and crying about trading him.

Have we come close enough to that feat yet?

And how many did we blow merely for trading away the closer for scrap that didn’t even make the 40 man Roster?

33 of them in 2008 and nothing but silence but 1 in the first 9 games of a nice surprising start and your accentuating the negative.

Omar signed a couple guys Hernandez and Koo for 2005, then let them go. Signed Bradford, Oliver traded for Sanchez and Hernandez (mid season) and brought Feliciano back from Japan where Omar had sold him the year before. Then let Bradford, Oliver andd Hernandez go FA.

The next year he signed Scott Schowenweiss and traded Heath Bell and resigned Guillermo Mota despite him failing a PED test and starting the season on suspension.

Didn’t make any changes in 2008 and then got dicked when Wagner went down. 2009 was the disastrous acquisition of an injured Putz, Sean Green and Brian Stokes as well as K-Rod. 2010 was Takahashi, Dessens and Igaraschi.

Tell you the truth Minaya’s best bull pen by far was in his 2nd season. After that it became an albatross especially the 33 blown saves in 2008.

Wagner, K-Rod, Schowenweiss and Feliciano got 3 years or more, the rest were 1-2 years.

Your not aware of them awards for Omar’s kids because you haven’t subscribed to the only information source you seem to use…HINDSIGHT as the Hindsight 2015 Issue hasn’t come out yet!

Tell me Who since 2005 have the Yankees brought up who achieved that?
And Who has Sandy brought who has gained even a GLIMMER of those accolades you applad him and credit him with doing?

You argument doesn’t work because you want us to give SANDY a chance you are not willing to give the 56% of the Omar Kids who are currently on the roster!

I wonder if Hindsight will be so heavily relied on when two years from now we are STILL rebuilding the BullPen?

I said 80 wins before the season started (OK that was a half hearted prediction) because I know this team isn’t as bad as some people hope they are. And, while the rest of the division looks very good at a cursory glance, each team has some very real flaws and concerns.

Even if I don’t think the playoffs are a likely thing for this team, I do think they are going to be very exciting and will give us a lot of fun baseball to watch.

Not that I don’t see the potential there and I would be more surprised than not if we don’t get a high level of play out of some of them but some of these guys have been up here since 2009 and that wouldn’t have been the case on just about any other team and most of them didn’t perform well their first or 2nd go around up here either.

Comparing them to Jeter, Posada, Pettite and Bernie Williams is really a stretch even if your of the belief that it’s a “known.”

I mean c’mon give the guy a chance will you? Minaya brought in 2 guys for the pen his first year, Roberto Hernandez and Koo and kept Looper, Heilman and Bell.

I highly doubt any of the bullpen acquisitions by either Minaya or Alderson in their first year were considered to be long term pieces after all who got a long term deal? No one.

This is getting ridiculous because even relievers that have good seasons for good teams get recirculated and with just a month before the Winter Meetings neither of them would have had the time to address every issue on the 40 man roster perfectly for their inaugural season let alone the long term.

How many years before we see Wheeler? Do you know?

So pray tell where is all this FUTURE 40 you expect to be here around the same time you expected Omar to have it? And how good is it going to be?

Minaya drafted at #9 his first year here, gave up #1 picks 3 of the next 4 years and drafted at # 18, # 7 and earned #13 in last years draft.

The reality is his first IFA class and most of whatever he inherited went toward Delgado, La Duca, Santana, Church, Schenider and Putz.

The 2007 draft was mostly about college relief pitchers (4 in the first 3 rounds) expected to be up here quickly. It wasn’t until 2008 that the draft became more future oriented and even at that it was mostly all “quick movers” in Ike, Havens, Holt followed by more 1 tool college guys after Kirk in the 3rd round. 2009 was K-Rod for 3 years, Matz, Shields, Cecilianni (JC) two HS pitchers we didn’t go over slot to sign and Gorski. 2010 Harvey at #7 and more potential quick movers or guys other teams were wary of for 1 tool or illness in den Dekker and Vaughn followed by Peavy, Morris, Goedell, Brown, Pugh (all college except Morris)

Being realistic you couldn’t really expect too many of his IFA clases from 2006 to already be here by now. Tejada is and Mejia most likely would have and Fern was just bad luck although Familia, Valdespin and Lagares are within shouting distance.

Three things that all reasonable Met Fans should be able to agree upon is that Minaya did do a great job in the 7th-13th rounds but that a large percentage of his draft choices were rushed and/or fit into the Majors due to not having anyone else and three, that there have been an enormous amount of highlight reel errors committed by some of those that made it up here including some things you rarely see on a Major League field.

Posada, Bernie, Howard have had their moments too but their errors were more overshadowed by their batting titles, silver sluggers, All Star games and MVP’s

And while you and Jesse will lament Omars FOCUS and TUNNEL VISION on winning while he rebuilds that 40 Man and 25 (which you have to say Omar HAS DONE!) Not a peep from either of you regarding Sandy’s Tunnel Vision and first failure to fix the Pen since he got here!

Even if all the guys we have now do well how many are signed past next year? Francisco and who else pray tell?

For guys who lament the lack of long term view of Omar (despite his view and actions being pretty damn good omens for our future) I see none of the dsame CRITICAL EYE aimed at Sandy’s lack of Long term focus and lack of fixing a MiL system you both trashed as horrible!

And if it is horrible it’s only because they all got promoted to the MLBs and winning ball games for us because Sandy sure hasn’t added much more than Wheeler and the hope of our normal Draft pick since he got here to those ALL SO IMPORTANT MiLs we kept hearing you and Jesse crowing about all off season and the last half of last year when you gave up on 7.5 games out of the Playoffs with Two Months to go!
