The Mets had heart last season and were playing great and look what the front office did to them anyway. Those who felt like the general manager that the team wasn’t going anywhere last season and think the same way again this season with our future still a few years to go, I have no problem with.

It’s those who thought they weren’t a competitive team last season and might begin jumping on the bandwagon later on this season that I will take then take issue with, for this is still the same core of players minus the outfielder and closer that was helping them achieve unexpected heights last year and could have still helped them after that.

Yes, as you said it’s early and yes, 98.5% of the season remains. However…

4 wins count just as much NOW as they do in mid-Sept.

I knew somewhere in Metblog land that there would be an article like this. It’s a great start but lets take a valium and relax. You’re never as good as you look when you’re going well and you’re never as bad as you look when you’re going bad, with a few exceptions. At least wait until a quarter of the season is played before we start to analyze how the season plays out.

I love the start of the Mets season so far but way too early to be speculating about having a chance at post season, IMO.

Every team in baseball goes through adversity. Let’s first see how this team responds/reacts to it’s first bout with adversity first, and it’s going to happen. And as Mets fans everybody should understand how this team has reacted when being tested in the recent past, and it hasn’t been good. That’s the truth.

Of course it’s nice to have a good start but let’s see the grind of the season start to settle in and how they respond before we start going crazy here.
