Bay Back In Lineup Against Atlanta

After missing Sundays game with a jammed right ring finger, Jason Bay is back in the lineup tonight batting fifth. The Mets were worried last night that Jason might be headed for the DL.

“It does bother me, but its something I will be able to play through.” Jason said to reporters prior to the Mets 8-2 lost in Philadelphia. The injury occured in Saturdays game when Jason dove head first back into first base.

Very similar to the injury that sidelined David Wright for a few games but Jason claims he’s good and ready to go for tonights game in Atlanta.

Here’s tonight’s lineup for the Mets:

  1. Ruben Tejada – SS
  2. Daniel Murphy – 2B
  3. David Wright – 3B
  4. Ike Davis – 1B
  5. Jason Bay – LF
  6. Lucas Duda – RF
  7. Josh Thole – C
  8. Kirk Nieuwenhuis – CF
  9. Dillon Gee – RHP

  • So he hits a HR first at bat?

  • Defensively, I’ll take him over Hairston.

  • C’mon Bay. Every Mets fan is begging you to prove us wrong about you being a Canadian bum.

    • 86, there is nothing he can do to convince me he isn’t Canadian.

  • Okay, I was off by a couple of at-bats.

  • BROKEN FINGERS FOR EVERYONE!
