Every organization has it share of these problems. The problem with the Mets farm system is the lack of depth. The over selling of one guy and him not panning out.

I think teams shouldn't start mentioning their guys until they make it to AA. When we have a shot of seeing them in a year or so.

"Des August 5, 2011 at 2:20 am
Bayonne is still clinging to the hope that Tejada will develop. Ruben’s a guy who is not quick and he is weak in his forearms and wrists. He swings with his full arms. He’s smooth, yes. Take smoothness to the bank and see what it gets you. It’s good on the dance floor and in diving off a board into the pool. That’s it."

I’ve been saying all along Tejada is a terrible player and completely overrated defensively. he is just not that good. he shouldn’t even be in AAA let alone playing second base for the Mets. Hasn’t shown he can make the routine plays at a reasonable rate at any level he’s played at so far. And hitting wise you might as well have Terry Collins up at the plate"

"Des August 2, 2011 at 12:49 pm
Let’s bring in Ruben Tejada for his fielding brilliance. He’s got style, if not substance.

In 2011, Tejada has made 6 errors with the Mets and 11 errors with the Bisons.
So Tejada has made a total of 17 errors.
In 2011, Murphy has made a total of 9 errors at all positions combined.

Hmmm. Tejada, 17 errors. Murphy 9 errors"

"Des August 3, 2011 at 12:04 am
Tejada will never be a good hitter. He makes contact now, so that’s not the issue, but his forearms and his wrists lack snap and strength. Bayonne you can’t handle the truth. You’ve made incessant attacks on Wright and Murphy. So don’t get soft and cuddly now. Your kid is mediocre. Last year with the Mets he ranked 77 defensively out of 92 major leaguers who played 2B in 50 or more games"

Matt -- Please stop with the absurd, 'This guy is a joke."

Do you go to auto accidents and laugh at the victims? Of course not. So don't do it to our Mets players. You're frustrated but that's not a reason to ridicule a guy who will likely be a star if he gets past his current medical issue. This same guy didn't miss a game in college at South Carolina..

well, it is not intended to dull the pain. It is an antiinflamatory. if the pain goes away, it should be as a result of the inflamation going down.

found this on some doctor's site.

" Cortisone is a naturally-occurring anti-inflammatory hormone that is found in your body. The body is a balance of inflammation (a preparatory step to healing) and calming down of inflammation. When your body is out of balance, it may benefit from an application of cortisone. In my practice, cortisone injections are useful in treating many conditions, for example, trigger fingers, tennis elbow, and TFC tears. The purpose of the injection is to calm down the excessive inflammatory process that may be going on because of injury, excess use, or similar problems"

Would someone please fly deep into the Amazon and bring us back a Witchdoctor?

He couldn't possibly be any worse than the doctors we have in making diagnoses!

A little Dance, Incense and some Spit Entangled Moonshine is probably a better treatment than anything these Quacks we have can come up with!

Cortisone is not the answer! All it will do is dull the pain so if he makes things worse he won't feel it right away!

I thought the rib tip was causing the oblique problems, and that the back strain from the end of last year was supposed to be unrelated?

anyway, this is frustrating. I have been hoping on him for a while now (ever since he was tearing up AA), and really thought this would be the year he could strut his stuff in ST and maybe win a job.

so guess just have to sait to see if they can resolve the current issue, and get him back on the field to stay. But he is at best going to have to earn his way up from the minors at some point this season.
