You can change the date on this article, its the same mediocrity from him over and over.

When push comes to shove, I wouldn’t want him pitching in a playoff game.

Sadly regardless of whatever positive articles are written this Spring regarding Pelf and regardless how nice the quotes are by Collins and Warthen about Pelfrey this Spring and regardless of how good Pelfrey looks this Spring none of that will carry any weight or mean anything where I’m concerned. Only him pitching well in the regular season will.

I’m happy his sinker is working and that he is pitching from the stretch to get it home faster…

But unless he bothers to pay attention to the runners, Unless he works on his move to first, The Sinker and the Stretch aren’t going to help him one bit! Because:

1 – Pitching from the stretch only works if you pay attention to and hold the runner at first and have a catcher who can gun him down when you do come home with it!

2 – Because no matter how great your sinker is you can’t get a double play groundball off of it when the guy is on second before the ball is hit!

What is the difference between this and the same things we heard last spring? The only thing that keeps sinking is his value. I’m sure he’ll try his best to ramp up that value with free agency approaching.
