Cutting Pelf is so right on so many levels. We save 4 plus million in payroll. We ditich Boras. We remove one of the last two members of the 2007 Mets Team. That historic collapse still hangs over this team. We make room for a younger pitcher. Buffalo is going to be crowded this year. Adios Pelf.

Did Pelf know about this injury before he spoke about how determined he was to have a great season…I’m kidding, of course…nobody believes an injury is causing Pelf to suck. Pelf sucks just fine on his own. Just like no one believe Ollie was injured a few years back either.

Yeah yet they all took physicals and flew Davis up for having “Flu-Like” symptoms but an ankle sprain got passed those same doctors in Pelfrey’s Physical!

Sounds a bit like any excuse in a storm if you ask me….
The guy simply can not handle pressure and adversity!
This is the third year in a row he is citing some odd injury he didn’t report to the team as his excuse…

Last year was his shoulder if I’m not mistaken…

Been saying this for a while now. It’s the Duaner Sanchez rule (or I call it that). He doesn’t have the service time to be a true FA yet thus his contracts are not guaranteed and the Mets would only owe him termination pay if released. My only question was the cut off date.

The contract is non-guaranteed because he was not FA eligible (so basically he was tendered a deal). That’s the way the CBA was written. Pretty sure though if he could have been a FA and they offered arb to get picks, but he accepted instead, then both sides are stuck.

pretty much ends up being a way the team can tender a deal ($ decided upon through arb process) to “reserve” him, but if by a certain day in ST they change their minds, the team can release him paying just a portion (1/6th I think) of the amount.

nothing to do with Boras at this point.

convenient timing to have this come to light. If it really was impacting him he should he been shut down to rest, since you don’t have to be a Dr. to know that the way to heal an ankle sprain is to not pitch on it!
