Update @ 3/14 10:00am – Draft time changed to 3/27 at 8pm. Thanks to last year’s champion, Satish, for noticing the original time would have precluded us from playing Week 1. Right now, we have 13 players, one away from matching the largest head-to-head league I’ve ever been a part of. We have seven open spots left, because that’s the maximum Yahoo will allow in one league. I hope we see the final seven spots filled soon.

Update @ 1:13pm – Setting that rejected new players has been fixed. I overlooked a setting that reserved spots for last year’s players to rejoin.

Original Post – It’s that time again. People have been asking about it and it’s back.

The league will be a little different this year. I’ve decided to return to the normal fantasy stats (AVG., HR, RBI, R, SB, W, K, S, ERA, WHIP). I’ve opened the league at 20 players (we had 19 players last year) set up for two divisions. There will be 20 roster spots (one each of the 8 position players, 1 UTIL, 4 SPs, 2 RPs, 2 Ps and 3 Bench). Changes that could be made are as follows:

Divisions – If we get all 20 players signed up, we could go to four 5-team divisions.

Roster spots – If significantly fewer than 20 pople sign up, we could expand to 22 or even 23 roster spots.

Scoring – We can add or switch any scoring categories proposed, so long as we maintain the same number of hitting and pitching categories.

**All potential changes would be proposed and voted on by the league. This is a democracy. Majority of the votes cast wins. No vote = no say.

There is not room in this league if all teams from last year return. If you were invited to take over an existing team, please click the link in the email you received to join the league. To create a brand new team, get the commissioner to increase the maximum number of teams, or remove teams that will not be returning. (Error #638)

Wierd. It only has me and Butler in it. Yahoo error? I specifically set it not to invite last year’s players and give everyone a chance to sign up. Let me poke around the settings. Stay tuned.

  Ok, I think I figured it out. Butler was “allowed” to join becuase he played last year, but I fiddled with it and I think we should be all good now.

You know the last time I played in a Yahoo League it was tabbed The Ultimate Battle Of The Mets Blogs League. We had MMO, Metsblog, Amazin Avenue, Kranepool Society, Hotfoot, etc. It was 16 teams, two divisions of 8, 12 categories, and we used the last 2 weeks for a World Series. I demolished AA in the World Series 11 categories to one. What burned them up more than losing to me, was that I named Jeff Francouer my World Series MVP and left graphics I made of him all over their site.

After that, I retired from fantasy baseball and went out on top.
