What I wanted to say was that I agreed with Long Time about Lowen maybe being too nervous. He already made the first cut and as we’ve seen so often with those fighting for a shot at the big club they often try too hard and mess up.

Terry might have been trying to show his new players that he will stick up for them, hence, his mid season style on that interference call.

Kirk has a oblique injury too so that probably lets him out.

Rottino (spelling?) – he’s a jack of all trades guy, right?
Both IF corners, all 3 OF and can even catch in a pinch too.
I have no idea what his stats are though.

I like Loewen’s bat potential and plate presence but he’s dropped two fly balls which is concerning. He may be nervous, trying too hard to impress and just needs to settle down but the last thing he needs is to get the dropsies in his head.

Mets need to pick up a legit CF backup before the season starts or they’ll put themselves in position of having to move Bay there.

There’s Kirk, Baxter, Hairston, and Loewen, I believe…

So with Hairston injured, Loewen and Baxter seem to be default decisions.
I don’t know what the current organization feeling is on Kirk, although I like him.

he will have to be able to cover CF I think. It seems clear that Hariston won’t be ready opening day, so they will need someone beside Torres that can play CF, unless you want to see bay out there!

actually, if Hairston can’t go, they need a 4th and 5th OF. SO it could be Loewen and someone else (unless of course I am forgetting someone?)

Hey Fonzie,

He looks shaky anywhere in the outfield to me. He’s also got another error to his credit this spring, giving him 2 in 37, which is bad to me.

Also, for his .304 average, he has 11 Ks in 23 ABs which is more than anyone else in Mets camp right now.

Satish, other than todays error, what has Loewen done defensively to say you don’t think he’s worth a bench spot. He looked shaky in CF but he won’t be playing CF. I haven’t seen or maybe I just haven’t recognized shaky defense from him. He’ll probably be the onlu lefty stick off the bench, and he looks like he can hit.
