I’m really glad though that there are a ton of original Mets fans on the internet. There is a great mix of younger and older, and the older Met fans seem to be more active on the blogosphere than with any other team.
I love what you’ve done with the staff, mixing younger guys like Tyler (Welcome, by the way), as well as fans from 1962. It brings new perspectives to everyone.

Welcome aboard. I was about your age in ’86, so I have some fond memories from that time. For your crew, I guess the Piazza years were the big thing, which I hadn’t previously considered. I hope you’re right about Pelfrey not being long to wear the blue and orange. I have doubts whether he could be an effective reliever. Maybe a long man in the role that Darren Oliver had with us in 06. Pelf gives up way too many hits per inning to be a short man out of the pen IMO, too many baserunners!

The thing is with Pelf, he is putting enough stress on himself as a starter, and when he lets runners on, he puts even more stress on himself. That’s why I think it is worth at least a shot to try him in the bullpen. I hope he can fix his problems, but I feel hoping for that is basically hoping for a miracle.

I thought Matt Harvey looked great yesterday and am excited to see Turner playing some good defense. What do you think about Baxter and Rottino so far? What I love about Spring Training is watching these kids play hard trying to make the cut. It’s awesome. As for Pelf in the pen, I respectfully disagree. 90% of Mike’s problem is lack of self confidence and coming into the game under stress would just be disastrous. I like Mike and keep hoping for a miracle, but it ain’t happening. Again welcome, and I look forward to reading more of your stuff.
