Mets Minor Leaguers Doyle and Moviel Suspended 50 Games For Substance Violation
New York Mets catcher Charles “Dock” Doyle and pitcher Scott Moviel have been suspended 50 games each under baseball’s minor league drug program.
Both were penalized Monday for second violations involving a drug of abuse.
Doyle, 25, hit .296 with two homers and 11 RBIs last year for the Class A St. Lucie Mets. He was a fifth-round draft pick from Coastal Carolina in 2008 and a New York-Penn League All-Star the following year.
Moviel, a 6-foot-11 right-hander, was 5-10 with a 5-10 ERA in 23 starts and three relief appearances last year at St. Lucie. The 23-year-old, now on the roster of Double-A Binghamton, was a second-round selection in 2007 from St. Edward High in Cleveland.
Thirteen players have been suspended this year under the minor league program, including five for drugs of abuse.

An article by Hojo's Mojo

Just went over Pete’s interview with Moviel. It’s too bad he went and got suspended. All that hard work getting ready for this season only to be suspended 50 games. Can he still take part in Spring Training?
“Cocaine is a hell of a drug”!
I’ve seen it reported elsewhere that it was for PED’s.
Viagra is a performance enhancing drug. Just saying.
I’ve never understood this. He can come back from this but it really tarnishes his reputation and standing within the organization. Shame
T AGEE, hey, weren’t those 2 draft picks??? First rounders nonetheless?? it goes to show, just because you get draft picks it means they’re gonna pan out, hey T agee what is your take on this??? since you’re always screaming about the draft picks we lost, don’t second guess here, go ahead and tell me what happened with these 2 draft picks!!
actually a last pick 2nd round and a 5th round pick.
and of course all draft picks don’t become stars. some bust. It is really about volume. You need to have as many picks as possible so you do get guys that work out. By your logic, you wouldn’t bother to have any it seems.
And don’t make it seem like going the FA (or trade) route instead is some guarantee. Often you get guys like Bay, which hurt 1000x worse, since they instead of a roster spot in A ball, they are eating up 20% of your payroll, and a spot on the ML roster. IOW, bust FA signings can kill the team for years. A 5th round pick flaming out? not the same.
My point is he often complains about the mets losing draft picks and start second guessing about players we should’ve drafted, how many first rounders troughout our history have flamed out? many, many.. we got a guy in the second round who’s done nothing and already using PED’s to try to get an edge, yet agee doesn’t say anything?
also, once again, with
FA is a toss up, bay came off a 36 115 season, who honestly said he was gonna be as bad as he’s been here? with FA sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t, yes bay has hurt us, but it’s more obvious because the owners are broke and we’re stuck with him and his salary, but guess what, the same can be said about santana, yes he’s pitched good but he’s been injury prone and cost even more for more years than bay.. let’s be consistant here..
First rounders? Get your head out of your ass Marlin fan. Try 2nd round (Moviel, 1 pick after Mike Stanton and 1 pick before Freddie Freeman) and Dock Doyle a 5th rounder. Neither was likely to do anything although Doyle had a chance since catcher is such a huge position of weakness up and down the whole organization.
:- ) wow agee, what is up with the hostility!!!!!! does it matter? aren’t they draft picks??
Sorry Alex. Guess I’m just used to hostility around here.
Yeah the were draft picks. Moore too who got caught last year as well but so were Stanton and Freeman and their not banned and they are up here in the majors while our guys are burning wood down in A+ even though their 3 years older.
Moviel was picked in between Marlins Stanton and Braves Freeman, right?
I bet they’d like to have that pick as a do over.
Rays do have a tremendous scouting Dept. and their success hasn’t been limited to just top 10 draft picks although those have certainly helped.
Some teams do a much better job of finding dominant players in the later rounds, other teams look more at guys who have one or two tools that might play up here and as college players it’s easier to predict and cheaper to sign.
Speaking of Moore, Matt Moore 2 picks after Lucas Duda. Ouch!
Fonzie, you just ruined my morning!!!!!!! but again, 32 teams passed on him seven times, so it’s not like anyone could’ve predicted this stud to be this good, once again, BA screw the pooch…
How exactly did BA screw the pooch?
Nobody can predict it true but you would think that every once in a while we would draft some kids like a Matt Moore,Joey Votto,Chase Utley. We never get that lucky. We get the one dimensional Daniel Murphy’s,Lucas Duda’s,Josh Satin’s of the world who have no position. Useful players but not franchise changing players.
i understand agee… no harm done!!!! i’m kinda too tall to have my head down my ** anyways..
Moviel was a 2nd rounder taken 1 pick after Mike Stanton and 1 pick head of Freddie Freeman.
That’s sick Fonz. Course until this year we never looked too hard at the HS player because he costs too much especially in rounds 6-15 where you can take a chance and sometimes get a guy who might be a future 1st round pick and get him early and up here at 21 or 22 instead of incomplete and one dimensional at 25 or 26.
Yeah Agee I know. I was elated when wegot a kid like Phil Evans in the 15th round who I’ve been watching video of since his name was connected to the Mets about a year ago this time.Marquez,Missigman,Gant,Gsellman,Montgomery,Budgell and especially Fullmer who’s curveball was rated the best of all HS pitchers. You hit on 2-3 of those type of kids a year and the farm becomes stacked in 3 years.Options up the wazoo.
Product of their generation. Looking for the easy way to success
Kinda like RYAN BRAUN right??? it’s amazing that even people on this site were actually cheating for that guy to win the batting title over a met…
I must have missed that….who wanted Braun to win out over Reyes?
With the drug policy in baseball being the way it is right now, makes you wonder what these kids tell themselves….
I did. I remember I wasn’t the only one.
Really? I’m assuming that was based on your opinion that Braun was just the better player?
No, because of the cheap coward Reyes became in game 162.
Xtreem: I don’t really know why this keeps coming up do you?
First and foremost, I do believe something is up with Braun. Call me naive but I don’t think this guy was juicing for the sake of performance. It just seems so unlike him, but you never know. I would have been very pleased with Reyes winning the batting title had he not cowardly walked to the bench after bunting.
With that said, any real baseball person cannot say with certainty that guys like Reyes never touched the stuff. After all, Reyes was linked to a doctor involved in PEDs right?
And lastly, Jeter’s never won a batting title. He’s finished 2nd twice if I do recall, once to Nomar who beat him by over 10 points and in 2006 Joe Mauer beat Jeter on game 162 for the batting title… by 4 points, Jeter went 1 for 5.
So that’s probably why nobody made a fuss about it, since it never happened.
What DID happen was a 34 year old Jeter was about to miss the playoffs for the 1st time in his career:
Had 5 AB in the final home game in 2008 (final yankee stadium game)
Then in the first of 6 road games to end the year he came into the 9th as a defensive replacement with an average of .302
Then sat for the next 2 games
Then came out of game 160 after 2 at bats with 0 hits and a sore left hand
He didn’t play in Game 161 and 162
His average ended at .300, but he could have sat in Game 160 and finished with a .302 average.
How in the world that is the same as a guy bunting in the 1st inning, leaving the game in what he had to have known could have been his final game as a Met.
Not even CLOSE to the same thing.
Jessep, it only comes up here because Reyes is a Met and Jeter’s a Yankee, doesn’t come up anywhere else. And also because people can’t seem to grasp, or at least accept, that Reyes had no desire to be a Met after last season. He got out of Dodge as quickly as possible, which is fine and all, but people put Reyes on some sort of pedastal because he was “homegrown” and they can’t accept that fact that he’d bail on them.
What’s odd to me is that the “divide” between Mets fans seems to be based on this old school nature (ie “we hate sabermetrics” crowd) and yet a TRUE old school fan would DESPISE Reyes for doing what he did.
If Wright did the exact same thing I’d be all over him for it, the only difference is the people accepting Reyes’ ways would join me in being all-in against Wright.
Reyes wanted out of here, if you take the blinders off and look around you’ll see he was a typical free agent who wanted to get out of dodge and go make a name for himself elsewhere. He didn’t care about you or I as fans who may have paid to see him in his final game as a Met, he cared about winning an individual achievement to help him at the negotiating table. And to top it off, he bunted.
That’s what happened. I loved watching him as a Met until Game 162, at that point I said good riddance. And let him enjoy Miami because when they eventually fail, he’ll find himself dealt away with no rights to refuse such a deal and no option to pick where he ends up.
I’m with you on everything except the bunting. Had no problem with that.
To me the bunt just added to the cheapness of the moment. I’m gonna win a batting title, and to make sure I do, I’m going to bunt and then walk off the field.
That’s like bunting in kickball.
I expect it from Luis Castillo, not from Jose Reyes.
correct me if I am wrong, but wasn’t it rare for Reyes to bunt at all? So not like this was something he did on a routine basis in the first inning?
He even said to KB in the post game that he didn’t care what anybody thought about it, he wanted to win the batting title.
Jessep — with such impeccable logic, you’re not going to win the love of any CORE diehards. They want their guy, who doesn’t like them as much as they like him, to win — by hook or crook.
What I found really curious in that whole Reyes-last-at-bat was it was clearly scripted to go down that way. And I can’t help wondering why TC went along with it.
I had no problem with him bunting for a hit. Heck, he should have been doing that more.
But clearly in a lost season, in the last game we all knew we’d likely be seeing Reyes for the last time, I feel he should have stayed in for at least one more at bat. It’s not uncommon for the starters to start being lifted after a couple of at bats in the last game.
With that post game presser and TC getting emotional and breaking down some, I coudn’t help but wonder if some of that was about he did it at Reyes’ request and he knew he’d be taking the heat for it.
If by scripted, you mean. He knew he’d get that hit by bunting, make it very hard for Braun to recover, then sit down and win his title so he can be paid accordingly by a team other than the Mets, you’re spot on.
Well, I have no idea if he was thinking that far ahead – getting paid more money by another team b/c of a batting title…..but I absolutely believe that move was scripted to give him the edge of finishing the season with the batting title.
I disagree, he went into full protection mode when he came back from the last injury. I think he was terrified that he would get injured again and lose money, so to think he did not also think about how the batting title would help his finances…
Could be. I know he said a dozen times he was looking forward to FA. I’m sure he didn’t want to go into FA coming off the DL for the third time that season…….
Not only that but I am sure if their agent is worth anything at all they are constantly reminding them of how personal accomplishments might be the difference in 80M and 100M.
Yeah it was scripted. TC asked Reyes how he wanted to handle it the morning of the game. Things like happen all the time. Jockeying around on the last day to win a batting title.
Rose bunted to keep his hit streak alive, no one said ****.
Everyone’s entitled to their own opinion about the matter but I’m glad Reyes won the title for a lot of reasons mostly because he was one of our own, played hard and played hurt when he could and mostly played well. One of my all time favorites, plus the guy he was going up against turns out to have had synthetic testosterone in him at an insanely high level.
Come game 162 of Reyes walk season after 12 1/2 years in the Met organization he and his agent would have clearly known that the Mets weren’t going to be breaking the bank to keep him and he would have to look elsewhere. Just look at what the owner said about him a few months beforehand.
Loyalty is a two way street, not one. Reyes could have and should have been a priority in ST 2010 instead of giving big money to someone else’s player and not rewarding and making sure we keep our own. LFers grow on trees, SS’s that can hit are rare commodities but once again plenty of cash for the import. No problem there. You leave it up to the last season before approaching a vital cog and chances are pretty good that cog is going to be somewhere else soon.
With the Madoff situation and impending lawsuit ownership would easily have known that they wouldn’t have the money for both Reyes and Bay if Jason busted and attendance sunk in 2010. They did it anyway. They took that chance. They gambled away the chance of us resigning a much more important player than the one we brought in. Just one more in a long long string of short sighted moves this organization specializes in.
The only minor criticism I have is Reyes could have easily played defense for two outs and then been taken out to a standing ovation but I guess they thought the chances he would be booed (even after all he had done) by the “sophisticated” NY fans for depriving them of seeing his last 8 innings when they had stayed away in droves for 3 years wasn’t worth the chance.
I also wish he had bunted as a practice much more often, he looked pretty good laying that one down and to be honest my first thought was set up because Yonder was suspecially slow on fielding that ball but regardless Reyes knew he was going to have to go elsewhere to get market value, we were out of it and the game in general wasn’t in play for anyone and he was out in the 5th the year before and the only time in 8 1/2 years that he ever got even so much as an inning off is when he was hurt or attending his Abuela’s funeral.
I’m glad he won the title and I wish him nothing but success. My only regret is that we didn’t take care of business with our guy and that should have taken precedence over taking care of business with someone else’s guy for once.
Cheap, selfish coward, I should say.
Jeter did the same thing once, nobody made a fuss.
Jeter sat out once so he can stay above .300. It was a personal accomplishment that didn’t affect anyone else. It was a hollow number and a weak finish, but Reyes was much worse.
Jeter sat out once so he can stay above .300. It was a personal accomplishment that didn’t affect anyone else”
Explain to me what was reyes then? for him it was a personal accomplishment as well, and for the fans too.. who the hell did it affect??? you?? were you on your way to the game or something?? you probably didn’t even go to the stadium last year so sthu… you’re pathetic here and you’re getting to donal territory where everyone will just ignore you’re garbage…
Ya, you ignore me so much, you can’t stop talking about me
Sorry, I missed that. Was on the phone with my ticket rep.
Xtree — Let’s face it, Despite the hometown Big Apple spins, Reyes and Jeter don’t have the class of Ted Williams. Both proved themselves to be opportunists. I’m surprised Terry Collins let Jose pull his selfish stunt.
Or Roberto Clemente to make sure this isn’t about the R word.
I just don’t get the hate for how Reyes handled the situation. Like I said everyone’s entitled to their own opinion but If you want to discuss awkward moments how about Braun picking up his MVP award?
That bunt single prevented Braun from probably picking up the batting title award as well at the Baseball dinner.
I’m glad Jose won the title and it was won on the back of 500 AB’s, not just one.
I was one that was opset how it all played out. I know others have done the same thing but it just made it obvious he wanted it for contract reasons only.
Now if he didn’t win it, after the Braun fail, I would want it to be transferred to Reyes. I think because Braun got busted/outed so quickly after the season, he should be stripped of the MVP as long as the appear fails. He would not of gotten the award if people knew.
There is no doubt that if convicted Braun should be stripped of the MVP award. I honestly think they should also be fined their salary for that season and have it donated to charity…
I think he felt it would be nice to hit free agency as the NL batting title champion but that wasn’t going to over shadow his body of work over the 8 1/2 years he had already spent in the Majors.
No one would be thinking now Reyes is going to win the title every other year or something.
It was much more about joining other Dominicans in the Dominican Baseball Hall of Fame that have won batting titles in the Majors.
Linking his name with guys like Jesus, Felipe, Matte and Moises Alou, Rico Carty, Julian Javier, Manny Mota and Ozzie Virgil.
Not bad for a kid from a small and not exactly affluent little town out side Santiago.
he had what is more likely than not his one and only shot to be the 13th Dominican to win a batting crown and he took it and the enormity of that accomplishment in the DR probably can’t be fully understood here and he did it as a MET. Against a guy who had “insanely high” levels of synthetic Testosterone in him.
I for one am happy and proud for him and he’s represented himself very well during his years here leaving home at 16 and coming to NY at not quite 20 years of age. Playing hard and well on the big stage. Never a hint of trouble off the field, no finger pointing or any other kind of BS and he brought more pure joy to being a Met Fan over those years than anyone I can ever recall.
You don’t think that his staying off the DL after that last injury and winning the batting title could not have helped him get an extra year in a contract offer?
May have helped a tiny bit but by that AB everyone knew what Reyes was and that he was probably having his career year, which could have been significantly better if he hadn’t gotten hurt the first time and quite frankly was imo opinion partly due to his playing all 27 innings in 120 degree temps in those blowouts in Texas.
Pulling muscles is often times the result of being dehydrated and Reyes never got even so much as an inning off ever unless he was on the DL going all the way back to when he first got up here.
didn’t hurt any heading into free agency for sure but everyone knows what Reyes is by that time and hitting .337 or .335 wasn’t going to change his value all that much in most GM’s minds and when you come right down to it only one team really put on the full court press for him although I can’t understand the tepid interest other than Miami, the NL batting title didn’t really make a difference to the other GM’s in MLB and Washington for one has both a glaring need at SS, seriously low OB and no leadoff hitter and no SS in the farm and their owner is baseball’s richest and they didn’t express much interest and that’s just one team albeit in go for broke mode.
The title didn’t really cause anyone to go Ted Stepian like in fact overall I thought the interest level was kind of low.
I think that is a great way to think about it and this is the first I am hearing that angle. Thanks for the insight.
“(Bait bait bait) Who’s on my line I’m blowing up these b calling me (bait bait bait) I’ll snatch your girl if your tripping She’s on my line like I’m fishing”
You are actually WALE? Cool, my players love that song.
It was recreational use, not PEDs.
I see some pathetic comment defending braun, the reason why some people here have defended braun is because raci-sm. the man took PED’s period, why else would you take them? manny did the same and was assasinated all over the media, braun get a pass because he’s the all american white guy, someone most of the people here in america look up to right? it’s pathetic that some guys in this blog who were fan of jose reyes actually don’t give him credti for going 7-11 in his last 3 games to over take the batting title from braun when he was behind 329 to 334.. and it’s funny that those same people are begggin for us to be patient with sandy alderson and give him the benefit of the doubt etc…
Alex: I’m going to respond to you this once.
When you are asked by Joe to stay out of starting flame wars and you respond by suggesting you will not write to me… it doesn’t count if you reply ABOUT ME and call me a RACIST without using my name.
When people disagree on a topic and 1 throws race out there when race isn’t mentioned even once in the discussion it proves how ignorant and uninformed the other person is and that they cannot discuss the facts and opinions without having to resort to embarrasing tactics.
If you want to worry about how people view men and women of a similar race than you, you should take a look at your own actions and consider how those actions reflect your own race in a negative way.
I am hoping Braun is cleared because it’s bad for the GAME of BASEBALL if its proven he TOOK PED knowingly. I’m hoping Braun is cleared because he’s a great talent and it harms the GAME if he’s proven guilty. I’m hoping he’s clear because it seems like an odd situation based on his talent never changing drastically, his appearance not changing, and the high levels reported on the test.
I don’t care if Braun or Reyes are white, red, black, brown, green or purple. Just because YOU do, doesn’t make me a racist.
Now try to take Joe’s advice and avoid these types of conversations a little better in the future… because next time you call me a racist or anybody else, I know Joe has given you a warning, and strike 2 won’t be a warning I am sure but I can guarantee you I won’t respond because you won’t be around to read it.

(Bait bait bait) Who’s on my line I’m blowing up these b calling me (bait bait bait) I’ll snatch your girl if your tripping She’s on my line like I’m fishing
WHALE strikes again. You go dude, when you coming to Charlotte?
Whether you like it or not is reality.. that’s how it is in america.. whether it’s you or someone else raci-al issues exist still till this day.. you bash reyes all the time specially after securing a batting tittle for a franchise that has never won anything, and for someone who claimed reyes is his favorite player you sure have a strange way to show it.. also, are you somehow threaten me???? Do yourself a favor, don’t even reply to me anymore, i know you want me to get banned from this site, as often you have said it, i am shocked joe D hasn’t banned you with all your snark comments and instigations and insults, whenever you see my name don’t bother, you had your chance to be face to face with me and discuss baseball or appear on telemundo, yet of course, you decline, i don’t even reply to your articles because i wanna stay away from all the baiters who instigate then go complaining to joe D about being insulted, man up ok. and again, whenever you see my name, look the other way ok..
To be fair Alex, who brought who into this discussion? You claim that you are not responding to anymore of his articles, yet you practically call him out in a post that really had nothing to do with what you are calling him out for. Not only that you call him out to imply that he is something that many could often accuse you of…. As I said before:
“(Bait bait bait) Who’s on my line I’m blowing up these b calling me (bait bait bait) I’ll snatch your girl if your tripping She’s on my line like I’m fishing”
You have revealed your true identity.
I have been vocal with saying I had no problem with what Reyes did at the time, but I find it so funny how you go to bat for Reyes and call people out for “hating” him, in the same breath kill anyone that says a kind word about Wright, and are the first to call him every name possible. Fair? Don’t answer I know what it will be.
My response to you is NO different from anyone else responding, so save what you’re going to say next.
There’s a Tobi Stoner joke somewhere in here.
First Oil Can Boyd… Now this.
7-11 in the last 3 games, but no, we all remember the bunt right…. and yet those same people who are bashing reyes are the same ones defending david wright after striking out and begging us to not only remember that at bat.. go figure… there’s a few people in this site who view colors while choosing sides..
Alex68 — your logic is so screwed up it is laughable. Then you imply something that Joe D. warned you about. C’mon Alex, you’re better than this (most times).
You keep saying that, but I just don’t see it.
Des, there’s a documentary about the rens in showtime, please look it up, watch it and see what i am saying..
those 2 situations (the wright AB and Reyes pulling himself out) are not even in the same universe of being relevatnt to each other.
You’re comparing apples and oranges.
Reyes went up at bat specifically to bunt, get on base, then remove himself from the game.
Wright went up there trying to do something – anything – to move it along. Instead he struck out. You think Wright struck out on purpose?
Anyone who is ‘bashing Reyes’ but ‘excusing Wright’ aren’t comparing the 2 at bats. Only you are.
Also this excuse of you bash Wright because he is never blamed for the collapse? Seriously? I have seen only a few, like me, blame Reyes for the collapse as well. If anything that one AB for Wright has defined him and become a symbol of the collapse while Reyes was never around to answer questions and was never really held accountable in the media or bloggosphere for his collapse both years that coincided with the Mets collapse. Just ask Billy what he thought of how certain guys in the clubhouse bailed. I hated Billy but don’t you think there was some truth? Or was he just what you are implying Jessup is?
Whoops, forgot at the end I was replying to you and not Alex… so no you did not imply anyone was the dreaded R word.
LOL…I was wondering where that came from.
Right, of course wright was going to get his legion of fans here to defend them.. as a franchise we had never had a batting tittle, whether you guys liked it or not, JOSE REYES IS THE FIRST MET TO EVER WIN A BATTING TITLE, WHAT SHOULD HE HAD SENT A BOX OF CHOCOLATE TO MOST OF YOU!!???
LOL…dude, no one is disputing he won the NL batting title.
Some just don’t like the way he ended his season with that last at bat, then removing himself – fans be damned.
I personally don’t care. He’s no longer a Met.
“fans be damned”.oh you mean the FO’s philosophy.
No. I meant Reyes’ and TCs mindset for that one at bat.
See it never was a Reyes or Wright thing to me. I am glad he won the batting title and I enjoyed the time he was here. I just think he was not worth the contract paid and it was moot anyway as the Mets did not have the money to pay him the contract he got paid. I also think he was ready for a change of scenery and to move closer to his family so factoring in taxes and desire the Mets would most likely have had to pay him MUCH more than what the Marlins did. It’s over, he is now on the enemy. I won’t wish him to get injured but surely hope his best days are behind him.
Jose won it by acting liked a scared little B…
sooner or later i knew TRS86 was gonna revert back to what many in mets blog knew him as.. TRJ86.. you complain about others being child and look at most of your post today, the hypocresy goes so far..the nice ACT you had going on was a bit shocking to me, but now you’re back to being your true self.. welcome back TRJ
Why because I am exposing you of being exactly what you are accusing others of? Baiting and the dreaded R word? How is that any different?
Exposing me?? how are you exposing me? baiting who exactly? what R word? isn’t it obvius that braun is getting a MAJOR pass? why is it good for baseball exactly that he doesn’t get caught? he IS suspended, they did 2 test on him TWO, not one, TWO and failed both, but he’s getting a major pass.. also, with you, it’s always been wright vs reyes because wright it’s your boy, you never liked reyes and that is why you’re wishing his best years are behind him at the age of 28, really?? explain to me why would a baseball fan specially like you call yourself to be want a baseball player with great talent and excited as reyes to have his best years behind? i’ve never heard you say that about noone else who’s young and good.. no, you said that about reyes because with you, it’s always been wright vs reyes, since the MB days.. remember dwrightisunclutch??? rememeber him? he was a guy who got banned because you couldn’t handle his screen name and went and complain to cerrone, proving my theory of you being TRJ.. sooner or later i knew all that kindness and goody good was going out the window, once a TRJ, ALWAYS TRJ..
You baited in the very beginning with this:
“Kinda like RYAN BRAUN right??? it’s amazing that even people on this site were actually cheating for that guy to win the batting title over a met…”
Then you baited TAgee
Then you baited here: “I see some pathetic comment defending braun, the reason why some people here have defended braun is because raci-sm.”
Then you accuse others of the R word while your love of Hispanic players shows through and your distaste for guys like Wright is admittedly because you don’t believe that he gets enough blame because of his race…
As for complaining to Cerrone, go back and ask Matty about that. Why would he listen to me? I got banned as well. It was only Wright vs Reyes because you made it that way. Constantly pointing out Wright’s failures while ignoring the extended failures of “the greatest Met of all-time”. I actually loved Jose, you can go back and pull from my time at MB, as was as TRDM. However, to continually say ridiculous comments like Reyes being the best Met ever and blaming Wright for being an incredible choker shows your bias. Wright nor Reyes are the greatest of all time and it is actually insulting to even imply that…
Now finally about why I hope his best days are behind him? Why wouldn’t I? He is no longer a Met and plays for a division rival… I root for the name on the front, not the name on the back. If Wright goes I will also hope his best days are behind him as well… especially if he goes to a division rival.
right alex,
the guy can’t help himself. Seeing how he behaves here no wonder that other place is a flop. Imagine Joe D carrying on like trs on another blog? Goes to show you.
The guy wastes so much time here reacting and complaining about how other people act and he does it in the same way as the people he’s complaining about!! He wanted me out of here yesterday just because I was on my OWN Twitter account complaining to Alderson and it was copy and pasted here (which i didn’t mind).
I never go over to that other stupid place – i waste enough time here as it is – such are the pitfalls for working at home – if there are any pitfalls to that, lol
Bay, you are welcome anytime as long as you follow the rules for the comment section. It is sad though that even MLBTR is having to completely revamp their comment section as well because of lack of respect for others and childish insults.
Not happening
I know, behaving in that manner would take all the fun out of it for you… But hey to each his own. We did not start the blog to be the most popular blog but to have a voice when Cerrone kicked not only your buddies but mine as well out of the comment section. So while our content has dramatically decreased due to the difficulty in finding good writers who work for free (ask Joe about that), your insults of the blog itself just because you disagree with a couple of the authors view points again shows your childish nature. So asking me if I am offended that you insult our blog? Me hell know, who gives a damn what you think… As for my other authors who work hard and work for free, seems a little disrespectful but that is your reputation and you stick by it.
Bayonne, it’s my fault for engagin, once i saw he was doing that stup-id song or whatever it was i knew he had gone back to being what everyone thought he was in MB. a self centered ****.you are 100% correct, no WONDER his little blog flopped, maybe he can recruit some people here who love sandy alderson, sabermetrics and david wright…
Well that attitude adjustment you promised Joe D lasted long. Not even 24 hours…
See my response above Alex. Insulting my blog will not hurt my feelings, why would it? However, considering why it was started was because of the same event that propelled this one and not all authors believe the way I do it is insulting to them.
By the way, our blog turns a very good profit from flopping.
‘….considering why it was started was because of the same event that propelled this one….’
Thank the gods. I forgot how frustrating it is to try and debate all things baseball with the lunatic fringe – which was the only reason I left the Empire and headed on over to TRDM.
which was the only reason I left the Empire and headed on over to TRDM”
which begs the question, if TRDM if so enlightfull, how come y’all here debating and discussing baseball if this site is full of lunatics?? this is the best mets blog there is, and instead of coming here to praise about your little blog appreciate what is here, and that is a non bias mets blog who let everyone express their opinion whether it’s good or bad about the team..
I believe because no one on the blog is so extreme is some of their beliefs that we are curious why people feel the way they do and engage in the discussion. Also since we are not so angry and their really hasn’t been any news, this gives us some Mets stuff to talk about. I imagine you will be seeing less of us once the season gets going.
Yeah, for a rational Mets poster what really is there to talk about? That is why every post here turns into the same thing. No matter how hard Joe or his authors work it still turns into the exact same discussions.
Personally Alex, just like every thing else it is not black and white like that. I read many different Mets blogs and comment on quite a few of them. I can’t comment on Metsblog even if I wanted to due to Disqus being blocked where I work so that outs MLBTR as well. Why I started to comment heavily here was I could not even comment on my own blog during the day either, until we also got rid of Disqus. I enjoy the hard work that Joe and his authors do here and respect what they do, it is not some kind of competition. If it were, I would vote MMO as the best overall Mets blog.
I imagine you will be seeing less of us once the season gets going
Really??? oh darn it!!
I just wonder what it’s like when we are not around? Do you guys live in perfect harmony or just eat each other?
Oh CMON, your saying it hasn’t been fun? Lighten up man.
Quite frankly TRS and Salty, it has been fun.. and if it’s up to me, i welcome y’all here every day!
How the hell did this become a Wright vs Reyes discussion again? Even Braun doesn’t really apply here since they aren’t PEDs.
To finish up this braun against reyes batting, for those who know baseball see mad dodg madlock in 1976… after ken griffey SAT DOWN to win the batting title madlock went 4-4 to pass him up and win the batting title.. again, reyes went 7-11 after being down 329 to 334 to braun, who at one point sat down. i am done in this thread…
Ultimately do you wish he had or had not asked out of the game?
