I wasn’t really a huge fan of Twitter when it first came out, and in fact I was late to the party and only signed up in late 2010 I think. However, lately I’ve seen the light and actually enjoy Twitter as a means to stay connected with other Mets fans, other Mets bloggers, and of course the beat writers which is why I joined in the first place. Last week we eclipsed 3,500 followers and only a week later we’re almost at 3,600. I’m also having a lot of fun with it. Who knew communicating 140 characters at a time could be so addictive.
Yesterday, @JedSmed, the self proclaimed king of #Mets hashtags and avowed #SaberGoon, started a cool #Mets hashtag campaign with
#MetsLoveSongs. It became an immediate sensation, so much so ESPN’s Adam Rubin wrote about it on ESPN New York after it became a trending topic. Nice job, Jed.
