Mets Love Songs
I wasn’t really a huge fan of Twitter when it first came out, and in fact I was late to the party and only signed up in late 2010 I think. However, lately I’ve seen the light and actually enjoy Twitter as a means to stay connected with other Mets fans, other Mets bloggers, and of course the beat writers which is why I joined in the first place. Last week we eclipsed 3,500 followers and only a week later we’re almost at 3,600. I’m also having a lot of fun with it. Who knew communicating 140 characters at a time could be so addictive.
Yesterday, @JedSmed, the self proclaimed king of #Mets hashtags and avowed #SaberGoon, started a cool #Mets hashtag campaign with #MetsLoveSongs. It became an immediate sensation, so much so ESPN’s Adam Rubin wrote about it on ESPN New York after it became a trending topic. Nice job, Jed.
I threw a few logs into the fire yesterday with these:
But some of these other ones were absolutely hilarious:

Some of these are so freaking hilarious!
You can see all of them here.
Got any of your own you’d like to add?
This little jingle came to mind as I was posting this…
Hello Selig, my old friend…
Extend the loan for me again.
Don’t forget the things I’ve done for you.
Now it’s time for you to see this through.
All my shares are sold – and Picard is running out of rope…
Well that’s the hope…
In March, all his pleas will go silent….

Dedicated to Daniel Murphy: “Tainted Glove”

Bernieing Down The House #MetsLoveSongs
LOL – nice jingle there at the end. Wonder how many recognize the melody?
‘Who knew communicating 140 characters at a time could be so addictive.’
This is the main reason I never signed up for a Twitter account. I probably spend far too much time as it is on baseball blogs.
I still peak at tweets, depending. Just don’t follow anyone.
current one is #MetsTVDramas
Anyone know if Alderson sees these tweets? Maybe he can get the tracks for the Citi Field PA system………you know, the guy hanging out of the press box with an 8 track player and bullhorn! My favorite is “Sitting on the dock w/ Jason Bay watching my 66 mil waste away”. Somehow I bet these make their way to Leno or Letterman by the time the regular season starts.
