I never mentioned the Phillies or ever said anything about having older players on the team The only thing I said about age is you don’t sign a 40 year old coming off 2 injury plagued years and give up 2 draftpicks in doing so.Not even mentioning that Alou was injury prone even in his prime which is what kept him from being a HOFer. He was 45 YEARS OLD and the discussion was about the old guys and how the Mets should not have gotten Alou – as some now come to the conclusion several years later.

Oh and Moyer was 2-0 vs. Mets in 2008 including a September gem in which he allowed no runs and got David Wright, in a key moment of the game, to fly out with 2 runners on. And that was part of a day night doubleheader. The Mets slammed Cole Hamels in the 2nd game

Alou and Moyer BOTH OLD. One got hurt, the other didn’t. Move on.

OB% is useless and wins are a better measurement of a pitchers performance. Talk about unintelligent. Hamels only won the NLCS and WS MVP. Moyer was awful in the postseason.
