Comments on: Ike Davis is Pure CHAOS!

Following a Red Sox-Twins game, circa 82-84, a family emerged from the players exit into the parking lot. It was Ron Davis, Mrs. Davis and two children, one a toddler, the other an infant. Upon seeing the look of excitement in my young daughter’s face, Ron, who had a bit of a rough outing that day in a Twin’s loss, handed the small child to his wife, and squatted down his 6-4 frame to my daughter’s level, and spent a considerable amount of time conversing with her. What a very special person!! Somehow, I was not surprised when I learned this very special young ballplayer, Ike, was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ron Davis. This, of course, also delighted my daughter, who always remembered her meeting with Ron. Thanks to Dr. Arthur Pappas, my daughter was able to overcome a skating accident which shattered her leg, a condition which caused those in orthopedics to proclaim she could never compete athletically at any level, to still hold several all-time softball records from her collegiate career, fifteen years later, despite an expanded schedule following her graduation. During and following my daughter’s surgery and relative to other injuries treated by Dr. Pappas, a man who cared for our daughter as if she were his, many of the Red Sox visited her, most notably, “Oil Can” Boyd, and Don Baylor, but we will never forget the kindness of Ron Davis. Very pleased to see the performance and unlimited future for Ike, but not really surprised, due to his parents.

LOL Joe! While we tend to agree on most things I do have to question Ike’s INTENSITY…
I never got the feeling he was intense…
I mean put him next to a guy like Murphy who is almost intense to a fault!

Apples and Air Filters (not even oranges! LOL)

What he does have is an all business approach, never too high and only an occasiopnal low (like when he kept looking at Umpires that rookie year)

I agree he is probably the best thing we have to look forward to the next two or three years but I hardly think intense is a word we should be using regarding him!
