Angels Sign Jason Isringhausen

Angels General Manager Jerry Dipoto, announced that he has agreed to terms on a minor league contract with RHP Jason Isringhausen.

Isringhausen, 39, appeared in 53 games for the New York Mets in 2011, posting a 3-3 record with seven saves and a 4.05 ERA, walking 24 batters while striking out 44. The right-hander recorded 19 holds while converting seven of 11 save opportunities.

  • It’s a good pick up imo to the angels, they got nothing to lose and they made moves to improve the team already, so now small pick ups like this are the ones getting done for the good teams..

  • Could have traded him at the end of last season to a contender. Got nothing. Same old…

    • I think they did it out of respect to Izzy. Also by the end of the year he had just about used up all of his gas. His 2nd half ERA was over 5.00 and his August ERA (when players like him get traded) was over 11.00. Not like you would have gotten back more than a C prospect anyway.

  • Good for Izzi. I hope he gets a shot with the big club.
