Wright Checks Out The New Wall At Citi Field
Check out these photos from the Mets on Twitter.
David Wright stopped by Citi Field for an up close look at the new outfield walls.
Wright: “I’m excited about the changes…I can’t wait until April”

An article by Hojo's Mojo

Off Topic: Just heard about Gary Carter on Francesa’s show. Thoughts and prayers go out for him as he continues to battle his sickness.
So sad….and so sorry to be reading about this.
Can they finish this wall already. I mean it seems all I see are new chalk lines laid out every time they post new pics on twitter.
Wright, pointing at the wall, probably saying “THIS IS WHERE IT SHOULD HAD BEEN IN THE FIRST PLACE”
LoL, that is what the pic needs. Like those pop up bubbles that would appear on a tv dating show they used to give.
Yeah!. This is where my first HR of the year is going to hit.
LOL,
That was exactly my thought as well.
It was good to see David make an appearance at Citi Field in January – perhaps it’s a sign that he and the Mets don’t really want to part company. Or maybe it’ just a publicity shot and nothing more.
Pending an outrageous offer like the ones Reyes and Puljos got, I sure hope the Mets aren’t stupid enough to force David to move on and not see him as a vital part of the team going forward. But then, who would have thought the Mets would have been stupid enough to do what they did with Jose – which was absolutely nothing, not even making a token gesture.
But to be honest, David’s days are gone, not with the projected payroll going down as low as $60 million. That would mean about 20% of that going to one player alone, leaving $45 million to be divided among 24 others. Four more at a little under $4 million would then leave $30 million for the remaining 20. It doesn’t take a mathematician to figure out that could result in a lot of long losing streaks or very few winning ones.
It’s going to feel like January this summer unless the team is sold for even if they win the civil suit, it seems all the Wilpons other assets (including the value of Citi Field) are going down.
I see Fred and Jeff eventually acting like the captain of that tragic shipwreck off the coast of Italy did – they cause the ship to go down and then abandon it, leaving others behind in the wreckage. Have no problem with them abandoning ship – it’s just that I wish they would man the lifeboats already and be done with it.
Again, the subject of David Wright turns into a discussion of the Wilpons. No way getting around it.
Over/Under 25 hr’s for david…. i’d say under…
Depends…..Do those 25 HRs have to be hit for the over before they trade him?
Since it’s still Jan., Alex, and I’ll keep my fantasies, thank you, I’ve got Davey Boy pegged for 32 HRs, 107 RBIs, and a .297 BA
Yes, you can throw this back at me in September
Oh wow, well I can’t say on HR or RBI yet as we don’t know how the park will play. RBI are so dependent on guys around him and if Andres Torres is batting ahead of him he might not get even 90 RBI.
it’s amazing how the mets screwedup their ball park from the outset. making all these changes after the fact. typical
Wright telling Jeff Wilpon “When you trade me, I’m going to hit one right off this ‘d’ in modells sign my 1st at bat back here”
OT:
Wish I lived anywhere near this Mets store. I want one…..

Looks like a Modells store.
Wright is pointing at the fence saying, “do you thing you could make it a little lower? Or, how about bringing it in another 30 feet…please.”
So they put the cheapest fence up? Awesome, looking forward to Bay crashing into THIS fence.
Bay, lets hope, won’t be patrolling in RF…
I would think that the fence would be the type of glass fencing that was at Shea.
