It appeared that Darling was up front talking to another player while someone with a mic was tring to interview Willie Mays. All of a sudden Mays looks up toward Darling and said, ‘who are you?” Darling stopped and turned toward Willie with a smile and said I’m Ron Darling. Mays responded who? Oh yeah, I know who you are, you won 12 games once. Everyone at Mays table all started laughing and the smile instantly disappeared from Darling’s face who stood there shock and stone cold and shades of blue and purple.
