I’m not sure how excited I am, but I am intruiged. Like Goldstien said, teams are going to have to develop new strategies due to the new CBA. I’d like to see how creative some teams get.

Like will they put most of their money for the top 10 rounds into the first 3 picks or something and draft lower priced guys after.

I figured most experts would have them more in the 16-20 range though. So 15 was a pleasant surprise.

I would have to believe so. The only other year I could see them being close to this is maybe back in 2007 when people like Mike Pelfrey, Fernando Martinez, Carlos Gomez, Phil Humber, and Deolis Guerra were supposed to be good.

Saying that, granted how much we complain about this top 5 bunch because of the small amount of returns they paid to the Mets, with two decent MLB starting pitchers and two outfielders who should at least be back ups for a decent amount of time (assuming the Astros are so bad F-Mart helps them) the top guys turned out to be not too shabby .

We are moving in the right direction and it’s about time. I’m looking forward to this year’s draft more than I ever have before. I’m glad they started televising it last year.

They probably are a little high, but I would have them in my top five. They had a pretty good system to begin with and then when the Latos trade went down it put them into the next class. They have a TON of depth and some upside plays with Liriano, Sampson, Ross, Hedges, Tate, and Peterson. Now all these guys won’t pan out, but they have a pretty well rounded system.

I think he’s got the Padres a little too high. Yes, lots of guys who will start in the majors, but lacking impact players. I’d put them around 10.

Considering we were 25th? (or right around that depending on who was doing the analysis) last year, that’s not a bad jump for one year.

Not a bad turnaround from being considered one of the worst for almost a decade. I don’t put alot of stock in rankings but it is nice to see.

Middle of the pack is where most experts have them. Terrific pitching, lack of position players.
