My Mock Up On Mets Retired Numbers

Over at MetsBlog, I saw this mock-up of how Mike Piazza’s retired number would look on the wall at Citi Field. I was bored today so I quickly made a mock-up of my own…
What do you think?
Then I thought, hey wait a second the walls are going to be blue this season, so…

The Mets may have to do Keith Hernandez and Mike PIazza this year to deflect the poor showing of the Mets during the year. But they’ll probably be a year late and $100 million short though — as they usually are — and wait till Piazza is in the Hall of Fame.
No, they’ll probably wait until he’s dead.
Agreed. 17 should be up there as well.
As much as Keith Hernandez changed the dynamic of an awful team, during very dark times, I’m not convinced 6-1/2 years warrants a number on the wall, especially when an organization is so “frugal” about retiring numbers, by the way I don’t have a problem with it so much, the opposite is done in the borough to the north, they retire way too much.
Not to high jack the thread, but the person I feel should be considered is Jerry Koosman, I think he was always in the shadow pitching during the same tenure of HOF of Tom Seaver, but I think his success is so under the radar and more attention should be brought to what he did for this organization.
Kay – My thoughts exactly! JERRY KOOSMAN the best lefty in Mets history! His number should have been up there years ago!
What’s the use in retiring Mike’s number if those sitting along the third base line in the promenade won’t be unable to see it anyway?
The blue walls are gonna look sick! Cant wait to see them.
All of a sudden thoughts of Eiffel 65′s “Blue” come to mind.
I would have to agree about putting # 17 and # 31 up on the walls of Citi Field. By retiring the numbers it creates a day for the real Met fans who believe in our teams history. Wouldn’t be an expensive day for ownership and it will put fans in the ballpark which at this point will look like a ghost town this season…..
I figure that it’s the least that Fred could do for us “the faithful”
I love it, It Should be done
Love it too! Also, I find it interesting that, if memory serves correct, I have yet to see anyone wear the #31 since Piazza left the Mets……just sayin’
