AA is a great site. Just fills a different niche for Met fans.

I come here at MMO and over at AA daily and I’m a die hard Met fan. I can see the value in the articles on both sites. MMO is more slanted towards opinion pieces with facts to occasionally back up the piece. AA is heavy on details and does slant towards saber metrics.

Both sites have some very knowledgeable – and passionate – Met fans.

guess you don’t know AA like we do.. those people there are the worst.. all their saber love is ridiculous. to think i acutally liked that website 4 years ago is amazing at where we at now.. they sh***** on omar minaya and praise sandy as the second coming, never criiticize his moves and everything he does is for the good of the organization…

Like I said, I think the last line was said in Duquette’s voice. The tone of the piece seems to take a less that flattering view of him.

By the way, real classy move by Duquette vaguely referring to Cahsen as being responsible for Bonilla then mentioning his non-disclosure agreement so we can’t ask him for more details.

They actually like Cashen there, who was also a statistically inclined GM with a penchant for building the farm. I think that last line was meant to be said as Duquette or someone else in the front office at the time.

Cashen is as old school as you can get. Not surprising to read such rubbish on a site whose writers consistently mock and hate on any non-saber execs, managers, players, etc. Alderson Avenue was their name all last season from when he got hired as GM. That tells you all you need to know. At least on this site we get all the angles, but over there it’s 100% saber 24/7/365.

Too bad he wasn’t joining a group to buy the Mets. I loved Torre when he played for the Mets, thought the player/manager thing was ridiculous especially when he’d pick himself to pinch hit. Still, those were fun times even though we sucked.
