Giving blood, imo, is one of the most important and selfless things you can do. If I was closer I’d do it. There are plenty of blood drives going on for the LI Fireman that was hurt in Crown Heights recently, I will try and get to one of those.

I’ll be there with my wife and brother in law. We’re not more than 20 minutes away, we love the team and it’s a nice thing to do.

My thoughts are more along the lines of why would any need an incentive to donate a pint of blood that could potentially help save a life?

I used to give regularly at work in my younger years until a chronic health problem ended that. Had a Co work who started donating just to get past the fear of needles. I’d have to say if having to face a needle to give blood is the worst thing you ever have to face health-wise, you’re way ahead of the game.

And yeah, I’d take those free tickets. Bad baseball or not, it’s still my NY Mets.
