Nice article. When I was in college, Ed Kranepool came onto the scene with the Mets and was the ML first player that I was aware of who was younger than me. That was a turning point in my life. He was a favorite player of mine over the years with the Mets. I noticed in his picture, that he has aged visibly in the last few years, whereas my maturity is more graceful LOL. He makes mention of Gil and I hope that Gil is honored with HOF status while Joan is still alive.

Ron Swoboda is another fond memory. I was fortunate to be at that great WS game 6 that Seaver pitched and Swoboda saved with his huge diving catch. Still my best memory to this day of Mets achievements (along with the Mookie / Buckner drama which I saw on my family room couch).

This is the type of story that relives Mets heritage and restores memories of former years. Good job.
