A Touching Piazza Tribute
Piazza tribute…. last game at Shea
This video was edited by my friend and fellow Mets Die Hard Fanatic Max Sanzo. Thanks Max, it’s a very beautiful video dedicated to the one, the only Mike Piazza.

Here’s hoping Piazza becomes the first Met position player to be inducted in the HOF with a Met’s cap.
I had the opportunity to sit down with Mike Piazza at a hotel in Baltimore when he was with the Oakland A’s. I asked him directly which cap he wanted to go in with and he was ADAMANT that he will go in with a Mets cap. The Hall of Fame makes the final call, but the player is given more ownership in the decision when a player’s career achievements were fairly evenly divided among two teams. He WILL go into the Hall of Fame with a Mets cap.
That was great.Brought back some great memories. At least for 9 minutes made me forget what an absolute joke this franchise has become.
Well done and thanks for sharing.
Thanks for making me blubber over my lunch at work, Kelly!
Glad to be of service, LOL.
Stupid emotions…
Also a great moment is his return in a SD uni.

i was at that game. The ovation started when he was in the bullpen warming up the starter and carried on as he walked to the dugout to start the game and every time he stepped into the box.He hit two HR’s the next night.
Yea the first HR he was cheered and the second one was booed albeit lovingly. How many players from a opposing team were ever cheered after getting a big hit or out? Only a couple I imagine? Mets fans are really a rare breed. If a player pays his dues, Mets fans will forever keep them on a pedestal.
When he first came I was real worried that he wasn’t going to sign a long term contract. He was getting the standard Mets fan treatment when he was struggling. On labor day weekend I was driving and listening to the game on the wfan and the stadium started singing happy birthday to him during an at bat. It was so loud that the crew stopped talking. I knew from there he was staying and was so pumped.
Beautifully done! Thanks
Aww this was so good to see. What great memories he gave us.
These were good times. No talk of money, payroll, lawsuits, etc., just baseball and trying to beat the Braves. The Mets could use a guy like Piazza right now, I’m hoping for big things from Ike Davis. He has a star quality about him and with Pujols in the AL and Howard injured it’s open season for NL All Star 1B.
