Because Niese actually has value in a trade…Alderson would have to trade Pelfrey and pay for his plane ticket for a team simply to send a bucket of balls back in return.

Why is he shopping Niese instead of Pelfrey? I cant believe he’s actually going to keep Pelfrey and pay him ten times more than Niese. I read stuff like this and I just want to vomit, seriously.

The Rockies are smart, Niese is a good young left handed pitcher with great potential and Justin Turner who does talk to fans on twitter and posts hilarious pictures of him dressed up in a cheerleader outfit is at best a bench player and in reality is just a AAAA player.

I would also put the Padres in the list of teams that might have interest, but after watching Wright struggle for 3 years to adjust to Citi Field I think they’d hesitate to bring him to Petco Park unless the Mets took little in return. So mark the Padres off the list.

The Rockies really aren’t interested in trading for Wright any longer because of 3B prospect Nolan Arenado who was MVP of the AFL who the Rox feel will be ready at the end of next season. Plus, they just signed stop gap 3B casey Blake. Sandy is probably shopping Wright but not to the Rockies.

David Wright, Jon Niese for Pomeranz, Rosario and E.Y., Jr. No less. If this is going to be a quasi-rebuilding year, go for it. Stop playing around, Alderson and blow this ship up! IMHO, all fans can see through the smoke and mirrors.

MLB must take this franchise over and the only way somebody buys this club is if they see a farm club worth protecting. If Alderson is in it to cut the payroll down, force the Wilpons to sell and start over then I’m all for it.

I’m a Knicks fan and every media outlet said the fans wouldn’t sit through a rebuilding phase… and yet here we are four years later 1 PG away from a championship appearance. It can happen here, too.

Yeah I wouldn’t send Niese for EY Jr. straight up that’s for sure.
