I guess my best bet to see the Bisons early in the year without having to drive all the way to Buffalo will be Lehigh Valley, Pa in April, it’s less than half the distance to Syracuse.

The Mets, who have a geographical veto power turned the Yankees request down. I guess Fred Wilpon won’t be getting any favors from the Yankees anytime soon.

Six different venues will host Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees games in 2012 while the Yankees permanent home at PNC Field in Moosic, Pennsylvania undergoes a massive 40 million dollar reconstruction project during the upcoming baseball season. The Yankees will play 37 games at Frontier Field in Rochester, New York, 10 games at Alliance Bank Stadium in Syracuse, New York, eight games at Coca-Cola Park in Allentown, Pennsylvania, seven games at Dwyer Stadium in Batavia, New York, six games at Coca-Cola Field in Buffalo, New York and four games at McCoy Stadium in Pawtucket, Rhode Island.

… the Buffalo Bisons and the Yankees will play triple-A’s version of the “Subway Series” with a four game series at Coca-Cola Field in Buffalo on May 24th-27th, a two game series at Alliance Bank Stadium in Syracuse on July 7th and 8th and the final two “home” games for the Yankees against the Bisons in Buffalo on August 20th and 21st.

Unfortunately it’s really hard to get to the minor league coaches and managers during the off-season. All the offices are closed, and many of the coaches and managers are working in the winter leagues. But during spring training I am going to touch base with some of the players I have done interviews with, and maybe then I can get a message to some of the coaches. What is more definite is that I will be going to Binghamton the first weekend in April to check out the 2012 B-Mets in person, and at that time I will absolutely interview the coaches and manager. I also plan on going to Scranton Wilkes Barre when the Bisons are playing there to get a good look at the AAA squad, and bring you guys an exclusive MMO interview with their manager, some guy named Wally.
