This is a good reminder to all those so called Met fans who have been rejoicing over the dismantling and rebuilding of the Mets that think is going to happen by 2014. The Mets didn't recover for about a decade. The first signs of life were in 84. Not in 78. And unlike these few happy folks ready to enjoy the long term losing and revel in the ways of lord snady, the Met fans in the 70's knew there was no reason for acting like a midwestern market club and stayed away from Shea in droves. The Yankees were still rebuilding from their version of Fred Wilpon,CBS, and they had signed Catfish one yearelarier. These lovers of losing, don't know and don't understadn that the Mets, owned New York and the ownership group threw it away. New York gave the Mets a second chance a decade later and ownership threw it away again. It may never happen again, certainly knot with the Wilpon's and their man lord sandy bragging about signing minor league players.

A typical Met dumb trade. its strange with our lifelong franchise we made some of the best deals ever and some of the worse mlb trades of all time. Two different ownership groups but same stupid trades this would of made Fred Wilpon proud except it was one that M.Donald Grant was involved with. but Joe McDonald made this one or Bob Sheffing.
