Holly Eff’ing Sh!t! I’m blown over by these recent developments!
This is why People are drawn to Blogs over the mainstream media. With no information other than simple observation and common sense, I could come up with a 500 word story on Reyes and the Mets and give no real information, but you know the story will be rerun on SNY, MetsBlog and WFAN as breaking news (not to pick on Metsblog, because many other blogs would run with it too…).
Basically here’s the real story,
-Sandy knows that he can’t let Reyes go without a realist attempt to keep him.
- Reyes would like to stay, but he’ll take the biggest/best contract he can get.
-Sandy doesn’t have unlimited cash to spend, so he’ll wait to see if he can afford to even make a counter offer.
-The recent decline in attendance and viewership is killing their budget and the Picard thing is affecting what money the have to spend.
All other rumors are just BS to get people reading the rags. Until team makes an official offer, it’s all just bull.
How do I know? because it’s the same crap we’ve gone though every year with every FA out there.
