IMO, AS I’VE ALWAYS LIKED NICK, I ESTIMATE HIS BIGGEST PROBLEM WAS HE DID A LOT OF THINGS WELL; BUT NOTHING OUTSTANDINGLY WELL AND THERE WERE PLENTY OF OTHER OPTIONS(DAVIS,MURPHY,DUDA) THAT DID NEARLY EVERYTHING BETTER.

2008: 21.2 UZR(2nd best in the league among OF’s)

2009: -9.7 UZR(3rd worst in the league among CF’s)

2011: 15.6 UZR(best in the league among CF’s)

I didn’t include 2010 because he was hurt almost the enitre year. For two years they say he’s the one of the best, then one year they have him as one of the worst – they just change so much year to year. So, they can’t be trusted if we are talking about a guy who hasn’t played one full year at 1B, like Murphy.

2) Regarding the quotes (as I explained at the time) I had many different posts on MMO. As usual, you seemed confused. I could have repeated each and every entry. To make it simple enough for your brain, I put together my views, but I didn’t ask you to read each separate post. That’s why I included the quotes. So what do you do? You accuse me of some sort of plagiarism, when I was trying to give you the heart of my views in a distilled manner. You repeatedly misconstrue the intentions of those who you don’t understand and can’t bully. Really, I think your just full of bluster and nonsense. I’ve learned over time that you don’t have the skills to debate a subject and still respect the other person and the disparate views. You’re a bore, a bully and someone who tries to beat the other person down. That’s a working definition of an emotional misfit. Really you should just try to understand why someone thinks differently, but that is beyond your limited capability.

3) I think the date was Oct. 3, 2010 when the New York Times had an article about Jerry Manuel going back to California with the intention of coaching baseball at a small college. When I said then that he was taking a plane back to the Sacremento area, you took a cheap shot and said I didn’t know that Jerry was taking a plane. In my mind, the mode of transportation was irrelevant, but that he was going home was the important news. In fact the writer of the article, George Vecsey, wrote what I relayed to MMO readers, but for some inane reason you got annoyed. You correctly pointed out, as I had elsewhere, that Jerry had said much the same in 2007. So what if he did? Can’t a person reiterate a previous view? Does that make it inappropriate or wrong? It was presented as current news in the October, 2010 sports pages. If there was any misinformation that bothered you for some godforsaken reason, you should have taken it up with the NY Times.

I really think you have some interpersonal and emotional issues. Get help. You repeatedly argue the most asinine issues and you repeatedly claim to be an expert. Ha ha. For example, recently you said you and your friends could do a better job than Sandy. That’s another silly claim by a guy who couldn’t even write a formal job description.

This shows that you cannot trust this statistic to judge a player that hasn’t had much playing time. Ellsbury went from one of the best, to one of the worst, in one year according to UZR! And just two years after he was rated one of the worst CF’s, he was rated the BEST in the league in 2011!!!

They are just extremely volatile – That’s why I don’t trust it ranking Murphy so high – Who knows, maybe if he played a full season there, he might get rated the worst 1B….
