Statements to the contrary are all lip service. Let’s just hope they use whatever picks they get wisely. I’d hate to see the great talent evaluators blow it on a Brad Emaus type, because then, it would have been a total waste. Too bad they didn’t have the cajones to trade him during the season. I mean, they knew they had no money for anything, what were they expecting?

Truth is if they were really interested in keeping Reyes they should have done it sooner as the Compensation might have made some teams stay out of the running to sign him.
