This is not the Mets 50th anniversary season, last season was their 50th season. If you look at any of the 86 photos and look at the patch the players are wearing you will see it says 25th anniversary. 25 years from 86 would be 2011. If you count the number of seasons the Mets have played through 2011 you will get 50. 2012 will be the Mets 51st season.

All this hoopla is a year late. How can we count on our front office to deal in millions of player salaries when they can not count to 50 correctly.

Its about time they did this. I have been saying this for years. Only gripe I have is keeping the white and black jerseys. I think besides having the creme color at home and grey on the road that there should be only one alternate jersey. That should be the racing stripe 80s jersey that they should wear at home. Also, the anniversary logo is cool but I would have liked to see the mets regular logo with the 50th under it and also have 1962 on one side and 2012 on the other. Well done regardless and I am happy they ditched that crappy black and blue hat. Now keep Reyes and Wright and play ball!!

Love the new lodo, but thought the Fantastic 50 jersey was a strange idea. In 50 years we had 4-5 fantastic seasons, not 50. also, by the look of that photo the Los Mets era is definitely over.
