Pridie has never been known for his bat to begin with. This was why I was skeptical of why they chose him over Kirk Nieuwenhuis, who started his season like a house of fire. Speaking of which…what the heck ever happened to Nieuwenhuis? Haven’t heard anything about him since his season ending injury. I agree that we could do better off the bench, but I appreciated what he (Pridie) brought to the table with his glove.

the minors are full of guys like Pridie. You can always find another spare part.

Not even a bench guy. I liked him at first but then I didn’t know he was around 28 years old. Nice glove but lousy hitter and got worse as season wore on, Mets can do better as far as bench goes.

I liked what Pridie brought off the bench. Good luck to him in Oakland. And since Joe mentioned it, Buccholz was real solid before he got injured and subsequently depressed. If he can get himself help, he’s an important bullpen piece I’d love back.
