Jason Pridie Signs Minor League Deal With A’s
The A’s have signed Jason Pridie to a minor league deal, tweets Adam Rubin.
Jason Pridie, who was removed from the Mets’ 40-man roster last week, has signed as a free agent with the Oakland Athletics on a minor league deal, according to his agents from Sosnick Cobbe sports.
Pridie, 28, appeared in 101 games for the Mets in 2011. He joined the club in April after Angel Pagan experienced his injury, and never left.
Pridie hit .231 with four home runs and 20 RBI in 208 at bats over 101 games this past season.
The Mets also removed Nick Evans and Taylor Buchholz from the roster in recent days.

I liked what Pridie brought off the bench. Good luck to him in Oakland. And since Joe mentioned it, Buccholz was real solid before he got injured and subsequently depressed. If he can get himself help, he’s an important bullpen piece I’d love back.
Good bench guy but no big loss.
“The Pridie Of The Mets” is gone?
Not even a bench guy. I liked him at first but then I didn’t know he was around 28 years old. Nice glove but lousy hitter and got worse as season wore on, Mets can do better as far as bench goes.
Pridie has never been known for his bat to begin with. This was why I was skeptical of why they chose him over Kirk Nieuwenhuis, who started his season like a house of fire. Speaking of which…what the heck ever happened to Nieuwenhuis? Haven’t heard anything about him since his season ending injury. I agree that we could do better off the bench, but I appreciated what he (Pridie) brought to the table with his glove.
the minors are full of guys like Pridie. You can always find another spare part.
good bye pridie… you suck anyways…
