I agree the Santana money could be wasted money…
No one can say it is or isn’t, some will say enough of it was wasted already to call it a failed signing but I tend to wait until the contract is over and see how many years you got what you should have from it as Players do rebound after having injury problems.

If Santana comes back and pitches like an Ace then it would be very difficult to say that money was wasted wouldn’t it?

You could say the 2009, 2011 money was but not the rest if that is the case.

I have no issues with anyone saying the Santana contract is a drain. But the solution is not to get rid of the contracts that ARE productive it is to find a way to shed the contract that is not!
