Gorski Named Class A Advanced Top Starting Pitcher.

Darin Gorski has been selected as the 2011 Top Starting Pitcher in Class A Advanced.
The 2009 seventh-rounder of the Mets not only established a personal best by winning 11 games for St. Lucie, he also tossed three complete games and was selected to the Florida State League All-Star team.
Gorski was 11-3 as a starter, with a 1.98 ERA and a 1.00 WHIP. In 138 innings pitched, the young left-hander struck out 140 batters while walking just 29.
Gorski is just one of many pitchers who made huge strides in 2011 along with Matt Harvey and Jeurys Familia.

Darin Gorski reminds me of another lefty pitcher from the past, Preacher Roe. The front facial similarities are strong. Gorski is taller and heavier than Roe was during his Dodgers years, so he’s really a super-sized Preacher. If he can perform anything like The Preach, we have a great talent. Roe was a National League All-Star five times.
