I was impressed how the next inning he went out and wasn’t rattled after giving up some runs in the 1st.

Mets came back to take the lead……bullpen gave up a 3 run homerun late in the game – shocker huh? It was deja vu all over again.

I don’t see the kid with a Cy Young in his future, but seems serviceable.

Schwinden actually pitched very well after that shaky first start. Unless tragedy strikes, I don’t see Schwinden in the rotation next season. The only way he gets a chance is if the Mets non-tender Pelfrey or Santana isn’t ready to start the season, assuming they make no moves to sign a starter.

I actually liked what he saw in the few starts he made and I guess the best is example was he reminded me a lot of Gee. I look forward to see him and the other young kids spring training. It seems so far away but in like 15 weeks pitchers and catchers report!
