Starting Line-up, Game Preview: Cubs vs Mets

Here is today’s starting lineup for the Mets:

1. Jose Reyes SS
2. Ruben Tejada 2B
3. Lucas Duda RF
4. David Wright 3B
5. Angel Pagan CF
6. Jason Bay LF
7. Nick Evans 1B
8. Mike Nickeas C
9. Chris Capuano LHP

The Mets and Cubs play game two this afternoon. Last night, the Mets won thanks to Justin Turner who continues his curious season in terms of batting average (.215 no runners on, .339 runners on) who had the game winning hit in the bottom of the tenth inning. Today Capuano gets the start as he goes up against Wells of the Cubs.

Capuano is 10-12 on the season with a 4.63 ERA. He really struggled in his last start against the Marlins as he allowed 8 hits and 6 earned runs in 4.0 innings of work. The last time he faced the Cubs was in 2010 when he pitched all of 0.1 innings, allowing one run. The Cubs have the following numbers against Chris:

Ramirez 11-34, 2 2B, HR
Byrd 3-9, 2B
Soriano 2-5, 2B, HR
Johnson 0-3

The Mets bats will get a crack at Randy Wells who is 7-4 this season with a 4.86 ERA. He has been on fire in his last three starts as he is 3-0 over 21.2 innings with a 0.83 ERA. In 2010 he had a 3.86 ERA against the Mets as he allowed 5 ER in 11.2 innings of work. The Mets have the following numbers against him:

Pagan 4-9
Wright 3-9, 2B
Harris 1-3
Duda 1-3, 2B
Bay 1-2
