sure man I'll be happy to pass along any interesting tidbits I find out regarding Met players participating in the Caribbean Winter Leagues. Right now, they haven't even begun to generate info for the upcoming season, but it shouldn't be too much longer before they start to release roster information.

I heard them say last night that Nimmo was indeed going to the DWL, as well. That will be very stiff competition for a kid just out of high school, and I doubt he will actually be playing very much.

FMart, wow, I keep forgetting about him. he's way on the back-burner in my brain. that special place reserved for all the constantly injured players that are still met farmhands, but by name only, guys like Steven Matz, Brant Rustich, and Matt Bouchard. a bunch of injured ball-players standing around a coke machine in the middle of a cornfield.

petey,

can you if possible find out about the players from the mets farm system that will play or might play in the DWBL?? i heard brandon nimmo might play there, which i think is great because a lot of veterans play there and can show him the ropes and whatnot. also, fmart might play (if he's healthy) as well out there this season.. at this point is make or break with him. he's only 22 i know, but at what point injuries not only derailed his progress but his confident as a baseball player? i hope this kid can be healthy for a full season just to see exactly what type of player he can be

You are spot-on correct there oldtimer, the Mets farm system is very weak indeed. They have very little talent at the three key defensive positions: catcher, shortstop, and center field. If you take away the four promising pitchers: Harvey, Familia, Mejia, and Wheeler, the system would be ranked near the worst in all of baseball.

Wqw,Sandy Alderson needs to do a lot of work on the farm system. It sounds like it has very little and especially at the key positions.
