I thought Evans could be a good LF, back up 1b when Ike returns and bat off the bench though a young player like him needs at bats and with Murphy probably being he utility player he might not get a lot of at bats but if not then can be used to bring a decent piece for BP.

Who calls the pitches that Parnell throws?
Can’t Warthen or Terry tell him that he can’t continue to try and throw the ball past hitters when he gets in trouble? His breaking ball was working good for him especially against lefties but then he abandoned it, why?

I’m glad Evans is getting his chance on a regular basis if only to show management maybe he can be the 4th outfielder/1b compliment for next year. I thought he showed it last year and then got shuffled off to Buffalo.

I’m glad to see that Nick Evans is finally getting a chance to show that he can be a contributor. He has the potential to be a quality player and it’s encouraging that the Mets haven’t relegated him to the trash pile after all.

By the way, are the Mets really finishing the series against the Mets today as stated in the last paragraph?
