Game Preview: Nationals vs Mets

The Mets try to avoid the four game sweep by the Nationals today as they play the early afternoon game. In today’s game, the Mets will send out Chris Schwinden for his second career start. In his first start of the season, he allowed 8 hits and 8 earned runs in 5.0 innings of work against the Braves. He has never faced anyone in the Nationals organization at the major league level.

The Nationals will sound out Tom Milone today who has made two major league starts, allowing 7 earned runs in 10.0 innings of work. His debut was against the Mets as he allowed 4 ER in 4.1 innings of work in a game the Nationals eventually won. The Mets have the following numbers against Milone:

Reyes 1-3
Pagan 1-2
Wright 1-2, 2B
Turner 1-2
Evans 1-2, HR
