Dickey Leads Mets To 1-0 Victory Over Marlins

Knuckleballer R.A. Dickey delivered another solid performance against the Marlins Wednesday night, in a 1-0 victory by the Mets. Dickey has dominated the Marlins all season long and improved to 3-0 with a 0.00 ERA against Florida in 20 innings this year.
The veteran right-hander worked seven scoreless innings and extended his streak of quality starts to nine games. He improves to 7-11 on the season with a 3.47 ERA.
The Mets scored their lone run off the sizzling hot bat of Lucas Duda who slashed a double down the left-field line to score Jose Reyes all the way from first.
Josh Stinson relieved Dickey and pitched a scoreless eighth, while Manny Acosta earned the save, his first of the season.
With the victory, the Mets have now won 10 of their last 13 and are one game away from reaching .500.
The Mets host the Braves in a doubleheader Thursday, sending RHP Chris Schwinden and RHP Dillon Gee to the mound. The 24-year-old Schwinden will be making his big league debut.

Dickey was the only offseason deal that turned out to be a good one. I’m glad he’s coming back next season.
Dillon Gee has like a 9.00 ERA in his last 3-4 starts and has completely lost it or simply tired. They should throw him in the bullpen and continue giving starts to some fresh arms from Buffalo to see what we have. I’m looking forward to seeing what Schwinden can do today.
