They need to realize that they can’t simply tap a “partner” for big money and not have to give up something in return. Good for Einhorn in negotiating from a position of strength for his best advantage. The Wilpons need to realize the jig is up and it’s time to get out. They need to start negotiating with a 100% buyer in good faith. Nah, it will never happen because the Wilpons are crooked to the core. The Ponzis are just used to having things their way with a free ride. The reality is that the free ride is just about over and bankruptcy is staring them in the face unless they sell out for the best price they can legitimately get.

His ultimate goal was to b e in a position to become a majority owner. Nothing wrong with that. Are the Wilpons fools for not knowing this. They knew this and used Einhorn to keep them afloat through the Madoff court decision (300 billion settlement). Einhorn had the best lawyers advising him on this. The consquences of this decision is dire for the Mets. Knowing the fans will have a “stinker” of a team for years to come I predict season ticket sales will drop 50%. If you were financially able and a Mets fan, would you waste your money on season tickets. You don’t pay for a Mercedes to drive a Ford. Finallt if I was Dave Einhorn I would get some partners and make an offer of 700 million to buy the Mets, lock,stock and barrel and tell the Wilpons to take it or leave it. I bet the Wilpons will take it. Where will Reyes play-Jeter’s replacement at shoertstop for the Bombers.
