I say NO ONE is going, there is still too many questions posed to make any moves. And with the Waiver Wire in affect it is difficult to get anything worth making a move for.

We don’t know what’s up with Ike and if he needs surgery wopn’t know till next year…
Reyes is still a question of if we can resign him. IfReyes returns we have some trade chips, If he goes elsewhere we will need the guys we have! Turner/Tejada (ss) Murphy (2B/1B) Duda (1B OF)

Our logjam of tradable players is all in the Infield, which is also 50% in Question of having for next year.

Until those questions get answered it makes sense to stand pat and hash it all out in the offseason where you don’t have to deal with Waivers, Could use them to trade for rights to FAs we may be interested in, and have a clue as to who will be where at the SS position.

Anyone who dare have a differnet opinion of the great Daniel “stone hands” Murphy will suffer the wrath of the Des the great. He of the man crush on Murphy. I can’t see Pagan being traded or non-tendered without some sort of viable replacement CF in the system. If they can sign a FA or make a trade to fill that hole, then yeah, be can certainly be trade bait, but to trade him away (or just let him go) and hand the reigns over to Pridie makes no sense.

Trade Daniel Murphy to a team in the american league that needs a DH. Daniel “brain fart” Murphy could benefit from such a move as he can throw his many gloves into a garbage can. Sadly whatever team would trade for him as a DH would have to still cross their fingers when he’s on the bases. As for Pelfrey, he’s on an extended audition for the rest of this season. I think Alderson will hold on to him, but if he doesn’t fix the one step forward, two steps back approach…he’s a goner in the winter.

I would not be surprised to see Pelfrey and Pagan traded this winter either. Pagan is more of a 4th outfielder and Pelfrey might be better off in a Kansas type team.
We need a fast defensive type in CF. A Bourn type of player speed. I am not sure who is available or if someone in our minor leagues system can play next year. It won’t be Martinez in center, I think he a corner guy. Maybe Kirk will be ready.

I agree with you about Pagan, he would probably be non-tendered this winter anyway, if he isn’t traded first. The same could be said for Pelfrey, who has made himself somewhat tradeable now, since he has been a little better of late. But Izzy and Byrdak? They would not bring in anything of significance. It took a Carlos Beltran, at the top of his game to bring back a Zack Wheeler, what kind of “prospect” would you be getting back for Izzy or the Byrd? NOT a very good one. They are far more valuable to our team right now, so at least we can play somewhat respectable baseball for the last two months of the season. Parnell and Beato are no way near ready to close in the bigs, and Parnell may never be able to. I don’t think I could stand to watch those kind of disheartening losses everyday the rest of the year. Izzy and the Byrd cost nothing, so it’s not like you are saving anything. Pagan on the other hand is still do a million dollars for the rest of this year, and Pelf is still due around 1.8 million.
